Putting some the same axial flux generator that uses the serpentine coil like the one you made for the twin rotors wind turbine, would generate a whole lot more than the generators you used with this one, especially if every savonius had it's own coil attached to its disk. Thank you very much for sharing and please keep up the good work

Adding some n52 magnets would also be nice. Saw some online, unsure if there is a better place to look for them, and they had some arc-style ones that are 2"x1"x1" at 30 degrees. They would seem good if not for the price tag of like $36 a magnet... and to get them in a north-south configuration you would need to buy two, as one option has north on the outside face and the other is the reverse. Hoping I can eventually build my generator with some rather large ones

By my experimentation I've found that the wind wall performs much better when it is far away from a wall or other structure.

As a simplification of construction I wonder if leaving the half pipes full length would work just as well. Especially with 3 blades to reduce any dead zones.

The latter with 2 blades with an overlapping AIR GAP worked best when stacked at 60 degree offsets with a separating disc in between, I found in experiments some years back. I used large pvc drain access tubes cut in half driving a geared generator. The wind strength broke the gears 🤦‍♂️ Then I rebuilt and put into the North Sea as I was involved in tidal energy research. It worked! But the vertical wave component broke the disks. There is probably a way of harnessing tidal and wave energy. Horizontally it will work on just the wave component near shore. A project for you Robert. Let me know if you need help. 👍🏼 ATB David

@@TnTOmnibus I once had a workshop like yours but I risked in all in a naive financial gamble and lost because I trusted a opportunistic business scammer. I still have the experimental knowledge if you want to demonstrate how easy it is to sequester “ free energy “ from nature. I know UKC and Kings C well. I studied near where I guess you are. Maybe I should call in for a day? Nature is abundant with energy, yet so few see this. CosD in Suffolk, U.K.

Wind doesn't blow it sucks -where you were standing behind the wind wall you would notice that the turning speed was slower as your body stopped the flow away from the wall -it is the same effect as blowing into a bottle you need an exit -love the show -ps a fence replacement panel power wall where you cannot see through but generate power is a super idea

The wind wall is a Kool idea and you did an excellent job with the frame 👍. I thought it was going to twist like a pretzel because it's height to thickness and torque from the blades. I've been working on a design for the vawt using four five gallon buckets cut in half, making four blades on each level and two levels on each vertical shaft and four drive shafts connected to a center pulley. All of this will fit in a 60 inch qube. The problem I see with the wall is no torque due to the small blades being too close to the center shaft. In my experiments I've found anything less than 18 inch diameter experiences drastically reduced torque. Maybe, if you put two walls near each other to form a "wind jam" you should gain a more reliable torque 👍❤️

I like the ideal of offsetting the blade sections by 90 degrees, it will give you more torque. Since you have 6 sections of blades per spindle you could also offset the blades by 3rds(120 degrees) instead of by half(90 degrees) and you will get even better torque throughout the rotation and you will have 2 of each blades facing the same vector since you have 6 sections.

Suggest you might invert every second vawt and add a vertical triangular crossection cowl over the adjacent sides of vawts that are rotating into the wind. You could also shape the wind wall frame to complete the ducting effect.

What would happen if you linked all the columns up with bicycle cogs and chain so they are all in sync, turning one larger generator. The columns could overlap somewhat if positioned so that they don't collide and thereby catching more wind for the surface used. also less moving parts using just one generator, although maybe some energy lost if something like cogs or a drivebelt would be needed to connect the larger generator? The wooden discs could perhaps be somewhat smaller to allow some column overlap, if the blades are rigid enough. But on the other hand, perhaps they work a bit like a flywheel? I have a 7 meter long balconny and thinking about replacing the fence with something like this but I wouldn't want to use 40 stepper motors :)

Hi. I would like to ask you two questions about your window wall. Firstly, could this generate enough electricity to power my home? Secondly. I could build the wind wall, but I have no idea how to do the electronics. Many thanks for any help you can give me .

How much more efficient would this be if there was farings to funnel the wind away from the convex part of the turbine and towards the concave part?

I was thinking about a fence as you were developing it. A ton of small inputs to make a larger rate of charge. I note that it appears the Sevonius columns are "cramping" each other's air flow less than the hard end piece of your structure. Hope to see a run of what sort of output this whole machine would have. have you had any thoughts about using your adapted Samsung washing machine motor/generators to do this? It would seem that given the Sevonius good speeds in surface winds, a perimeter type generator would be a great ticket.

Just had a seeming novel idea. I have not seen anything like it. Make a wind wall of counter rotating pairs of vawts. Each pair would be synchronized with its mate using gears in their bases. The vawt fins would slightly overlap with the fins of the paired vawt, reminiscent of meshing gears. Each pair would be ducted about the fin overlapping sides only. Has anyone seen this done? Seems like it would be very efficient. I posted something similar already, but perhaps did not explain it as clearly. I also was posting from someone else's phone, and it was under a different name.

I'm not sure but won't those gears create extra resistance? I'm also thinking how to "sum" together multiple vawts!

Look closer they are triangles three sided then each is offset from the one above . Cut them all two more times ! May be a render but one thing is for sure you didn't hit what was in the drawing look at yours see how you can see theough to the other side of yours but cant on the "rendering" will ! Now im looking at it on a phone so maybe it is a rendering but the one thing that suggested its not is in the up close picture the uneven shadow between its base and the ground .
