am i the only one that noticed he never put the tubing back on the pump so everything has to come back out so now he can connect the water hose lol. great video and i love people who do helpful fix it videos and stuff, but there should have been something mentioned in the comments, or the video, that you have to be sure to put the hose back on the tank and connected to the pump, before you reinstall the tank.

My 2006 Silverado has started leaking fluid too. I bought the reservoir and four hold down snaps..i will try and do the job.. great video..

11:29 I can see you did not put the u-nut on the new tank. You took 7 bolts off, but only put 6 back on. The one missing is to the tank through the battery tray.

The problem with your leak was probably not the washer Reservoir but the grommet that the motor slides through that will leak after a time. On my 2004 GMC Sierra when I would use the pump the motor for some reason would rise up and then start leaking but if I push the motor back down it would stop leaking. I just replaced the motor since it came with a new grommet because it was quite old anyway.

How were you able to get it to squirt water on the windshield when you forgot to hook up the tube from the pump ? Pretty good video of the change out. Did mine yesterday and thought I'd save a few bucks by using the old pump, what a mistake that was. Three hours work and stood back to admire my work, filled the tank and the darn thing was leaking. Upon inspection the pump base was the culprit. So back off with the whole thing and put a new pump in it and now no problems. So word to the wise gentlemen change the plastic base chinnnnnse made pump especially if yours is old like mine was, 15 years.

The mid 07 MY "facelift" didn't change much under the hood. The battery tray is still there but not used. Same bolt locations and everything.

I cannot thank you enough for this clear and very helpful video. It is interesting to see the bare hands and Husky sockets because they are the same as you would find in my garage. My problem was accessing the horn which had a couple of issues, one which was it decided to start blowing at 3am. Fixedthe other issues but the horn had failed too. Thanks again.

If you're broke like me & have a soldering iron, watch a couple videos on plastic welding. I had to weld on mine 3 times, but it did not cost me a dime as I already had some old screen wire. The video I watched showed how you can cut small pieces of plastic off the part you're working on, to use as a filler.

Dude you didn't put the hose back on the pump so how did you get the fluid to pump to the windshield LOL....also u don't have to take the whole battery tray out, just one bolt out of it.

Great video. I used some vinyl tubing to drain the reservoir first. I think the low fluid level sensor is a waste of time. Had my car 17 years and don’t think I’ve ever noticed that it came on. Even if it did I wouldn’t care if there wasn’t a sensor. Just put more fluid and if it doesn’t come out!

I have to do this tomorrow some tells me I’m gonna end up doing it more than once I have oversize tires on her and I’m afraid that that might’ve been the issue it hit the bottle and cracked it Unfortunately with the plastic liners they don’t protect them bottles very well

Mine was only a cracked pump housing, $16 for a new pump and fixed.

Thanks, great video. One can also do it for free if there is just a small crack or hole - after removal, spray with clear FlexSeal, check for leaks, then re-install.

When did you replace the hose?

All the new pumps I can find the nipple on the bottom of the motor isn’t a 90 it’s straight out witch obviously won’t fit the hose so I’m at a loss and I’m stuck with no washer fluid until someone can make a motor with a 90 degree angle

Good video! My clip was rusted and broke when I was removing the reservoir, its the clip that holds the reservoir to the battery tray. Do you know what the part number is for the clip that the bolts go in? Need a new one. Thanks
