How to add a basic level of Collision Avoidance to a robot using a PICO W and the GP2Y0E03 Time of Flight Sensor. For the Zoomie, we will be utilizing a Time of Flight sensor to detect object in the path of the robot and to determine how far away the object is. Eventually, this sensor will also be used to help with localization in certain situations.

Hi Chris, just to say that the gp2xxx sensor is not a ToF sensor it is a cone of light sensor, relying on measuring the size of a cone of light from the reflecting surface

Hi Bill, That is embarrassing LOL. I never even gave it a thought it was using a different sensing technology. When I found it on (Amazon or AliExpress - can't remember) the description didn't go into enough detail but it did have enough information to inform me it should be able to do what I needed.
