@bigcitytaken I kind of see why Marcelo is not happy with his bjj son... he's a role model and shapes him up until black belt and STILL Dillon behaves like a thug. Respect and being humble two traits every martial artist should have, especially if they represent legends like Marcelo!

No, he's still the same nice kid. He just knows how to make money by promoting himself. That nice guy image wasn't making him a dime. He started making a lot of money when he started talking cocky.

Truly magnificent. In particular to Mansher, get ju jitsu out to your people in India. They have all the raw materials required to be great at this....Yoga, wrestling and more.

Do I understand this correctly? Marcelo does not use stripes on his belts, nor does he award them instructor black belts? Thanks

CivilianArms Marcelo uses stripes for all students. BUT these guys have been brown belts a while and they're all gi, nogi world champions,all abu dhabi competitors,even metamoris. SO their promotions aren't gauged on stripes like the average student, Plus they train so much,2, 3times a day... their stripes fell off the belt. (Matheus for example had 4stripes last promotion two fell off,so did Dillon and Munchie had stripes). Also if you're a 4stripe brown marcelo may not promote you just on that, you have to represent him and be a good person first. He is very serious about promoting to brown and black
