Thank you, Canon Duncan. Your words brought back fond memories of Rogation Day celebrations from my farm girl childhood in the early 60s. Farm families of all faiths who lived in Farmington Township met in a small, white, country Lutheran church to give thanks for God's bounty, and to ask his blessing on the crops about to be planted. MANY hymns were sung. One of my favorites was We Plow the Fields and Scatter the Good Seed on the Land.

Amen. And I am a bit uncertain on what further interpretations one might draw from this Parable of Jesus but have been reflecting also on a couple of similar passages in the Book of Daniel about King Nebuchadnezzar's Dream of A Tree: "How great his signs, how mighty are his wonders!" And Daniel's interpretation is striking as a lesson perhaps in the interpretation by the Prophet Daniel in interpreting the king as the tree...And reflecting also on The Gospel of Mark having something to do with the Kingdom drawing near like The Thief In The Night of which Jesus speaks and proclaims in Luke's Gospel. In other words, one interpretation might be that the Kingdom will spring up on the earth like a mysterious Oak Tree as in The Gospels? Strange about these similarities between Jesus' Parables and King Nebuchadnezzar's Dream. How might we then interpret the Magical or Mystical Tree of Life today from The Garden of Eden and then on into Eternity? Perhaps it is also like an Image of the Procession Into Paradise with Dante by the streams at the foot of Mt Purgatory...In any event, Wonderful reflections. And again, Amen! 🤲🌳🌄
