Hey Jimbo, while I’ve been driving for over 15 years, I had to get my NSW drivers licence through a test for the country I come from. In order to get myself ready for the test, all literally did was to watch every single one of your videos, and today I simply went down and passed my NSW driving test. Just wanna say, honestly without watching your videos I would definitely have not passed the test, even though I had all the experience in the world. You’re Legend. Hey mate! Thanks to you, I passed the driving test by watching your videos and having a driving instructor. I watched the videos and driving lessons yesterday for 2 hours, then watched them again earlier and took driving lessons for 2 more hours, then took the test, and viola, full licence. I’m a professional overseas driver who took the exam the first time without doing anything, thinking I was already capable, but failed. I tried my luck, did some lessons, and watched your videos, which really helped.

Hi Jimbo! Overseas driver over here! I have been driving for 10 years and it is difficult to unlearn and then learn again how to drive in a different country that also drives on the other side of the road! Anyways, I had my driving test this morning in Brookvale! past second go! My first test was in Bondi, had 99% but one big error cost me the pass. Thank you for all your videos, they are helping me a lot (I have to retake the test as my license expired more than 5 years ago, drove for 20 years but haven't driven in Australia for years; am not a P plater). I just want to ask about the head check on the test and driving in general - except for the raised island, is it better to be safe than sorry and do head checks for each and every lane change, just in case? Is that considered extra caution, or would it be considered as not really understanding the road rules or the purpose of the head check? My feeling is that it's best to do it with every lane change, just to get into the habit, and for extra safety, but not sure if it would count against me, when it is not really necessary.

hey Jimbo... great videos.....been so useful in my practice ... im to give my test on monday... i have few doubts about pedestrian crossings, I know that pedestrians get priority on pedestrian crossing and we need to stop and give way for them, but can you clarify the rules for someone standing on the road other than pedestrian crossing trying to cross or someone who is in a refuge island, do we stilll need to stop for them or do we need to drive pass them as it is not a pedestrian crossing? could you please help me with this, Thanks in advance

Hi Jimbo I passed my driving test 1st go thanks to your videos. I couldnt issue my full license same day due to missing documents. I went back later on to issue it they said the test is valid for only 1 month knowing that i asked on the same day they said its on the system and always valid. Do u have any idea about this? And what should i do Thanks youuu

Hi Jimbo, could you please do a video about steering technique in the driving test? I'm reading the guide to the RMS driving test and it says you can lose points for poor steering? Not sure what that means, could you demonstrate poor vs good steering? And it says you're allowed a maximum of 4 direction changes per parking manoeuvre, what does that mean? Does that mean if you try to fix it too many times, you fail?

Hi Jimbo, the examiner said i was doing my head checks but at incorrect timing. Could you lend some advice on this as the driving test guide doesn't mention timing regarding head checks?

Hi Claire you might have been way to early or too late. In regard to changing lanes check mirrors and signal. If the mirror is clear then check blindspot, if that's clear then make the move. If you checked blindspot first and then much time went by while checking mirrors then you would need to check the blindspot again.

I had my exam done today in Victoria. I entered the wrong side of the road. Instant failed😢. Im converting my overseas license, and im used to drive on the right hand side. Got completely confused driving in the left and was a big Fail😢

Hi jimbo i passed the test 1st go!! I just have a prevailing question. Lets say i was turning left out of an intersection that was one lane into a three laned road. Can i select any lane such as the furthest, granted that it's safe to do so?

@The Driving Test Guy NSW thanks. The road has no lane marking but has enough space at the end so another car can turn. I'm assuming this is only so people who want to turn right can do so and I don't have to worry about them turning left as well?

Hi there I don't know those areas. The best option is to look out for tests driving around or book an instructor for a mock test.

@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 actually i didnt but only because in highway i was going above 60 and max speed is 60 ( of course i know that but the sun was doing directly into muy eyes and my car is automatic and speed raised a little bit like 63 ) it was SO UNFAIR because i had all ticks and only circle was speed limit i ended up crying and couldnt believe what happened i booked for another test next week but i think the woman who tested me could have been aproved me because i deserved it , it was only 63 over 60 , i know speed limit is a must but you know what i mean.. anyways thanks for your videos i havent taken any driver class, just watching your videos is ok (i drive since i was 20 years old, im 30) but i am from Argentina and moved to Australia few months ago, Cheers

Hi, I was wondering if markers see social anxiety as you being nervous to drive? I have my test coming up and am worried they’ll think I am too nervous to drive when in reality, I am nervous about the stranger next to me. Should they be made aware of your social anxiety?

Every examiner is aware that test applicants are nervous/anxious for various reasons. Some examiner's are more personable than others so I hope you get a good one. You won't need to tell them anything.
