VN24 - 07.03.2022 - Oelde A2 / Germany - A semi-trailer truck loaded with rapeseed crashed on the A2 freeway at around 14:10 hrs. For reasons that are still unclear, the driver had left his lane shortly before the Oelde junction at the height of Otmar Alt's art cube (Landesgartenschau 2001) when he steered to the right into the ditch while driving in a westbound direction towards Dortmund. There the tractor got wedged in the soil, the fifth wheel plate broke off from the chassis and the tipper trailer fell onto its side. Fortunately, the driver was not injured. With great effort, the tractor had to be salvaged and the loaded trailer had to be put back on its wheels. Specialists from the Horstmann recovery company took over the work with two heavy tow trucks and their winches. The ditch was then cleared of the lost rapeseed grains using a wheel loader and cleaned.
