This is part 1 of a transmission swap for 07-09 nissan versa..hope i could help you guys of all the wonders and question about nissan cvt transmission...please be carefull when doing this always exercise safety in your workplace ..enjoy watching

AM make it look so easy with no fancy equipment or garage lift with only one person crazy. I seen two men struggle with the state of art auto equipment,tranmission lifts & air tools. This dude is one crafty counselor!

Hey there. I have a 2008 nissan versa sl with cvt transmission that needs replacing. I've done flush and changed out filter and switch but still issues. Do you know if I can put in an automatic transmission to give it a longer life rather than replace with another cvt? Salamat!

After I had my transmission replaced, (same Nissan Versa), my car starts, but the RPM drops right after it starts up. It drops very low and then goes up again to around 1000, which is still pretty weak. Its lower than what it was before the transmission was replaced. What could this be?

Is the Torque converter weighted? Will it only go back one way or multiple positions on the flywheel

you can rotate it it doesnt matter how you positon ur torque converter as long its bolt will go in to the hole on the flywheel

When i removed the engine in a versa i noticed the bell housing bolts are differnet lengths do you know where the long ones go

yup definitely you can do it from the top but i find easier if i do it at the bottom

If replace, Does anyone know if you have to relearn or reprogram the 4speed transmission? I’m planning to replace the 4 speed mission myself. Not sure if relearning only applies to CVT. I am not going CVT - 2008 Versa

from my experience only 07 08 and 09 are compatible other year model had different size and design of the tranny

it's easy to remove i gurrantee you u rather focus on the bolts of torque converter especially on installing

Magandang umaga. Ilocana ang asawa ko. Nagkasal natin sa 2003 at maroon dalawang anak. Can I confirm that the exhaust pipe was not removed to allow removal of the transmission? It seems that these small front wheel drive cars do not need the exhaust removed to take the transmission out as a general statement, is that true? .

I wonder, is it possible to just lift the engine and transmission as a whole with a hoist? Or is there not enough room on the transmission side?

i recommend you to do this procedure rather than taking the whole thing because its faster and its easier but its also possible to remove them together at the top i did try it before but it didnt work for me

@@asianmechanicguy6483 Thank you for taking your time and advice. But taking both of them out is my only option because the engine is getting replaced. Somehow piston #1 and #3 are shattered and my best guess is the cylinder walls are all scratched up. Even if they weren't all that badly scratched, the repair cost would be higher than just getting an used engine.
