Much appreciated. Thank you for the kind words! The oil in your spark plug well is a leaky valve cover gasket. Definitely not something to tackle if you need the van everyday.

@@iamdjnam thanks, the guy at the auto part store said that was only a sensor, we're thinking its both a sensor and pressure regulator.

That damn rubber stayed and took me an hour to get it out!!

Windshield cowl could be leaking. Typical problem is the intake manifold leaks water and send it into the wells.

Few things going on here. Check your spark plugs gap, should be .054. You can also check fuel trims to make sure you aren’t leaning out. As far as the clunks go, check your U-joints for play. Thanks for the support! definitely won’t be as big as Chris because most of my videos are Ford specific, but as long as someone learns something it’s good enough for me :)

@@iamdjnam Thank you for your reply. U_joints are fine. Typically, with Fords, the clunk is related to a binding slip yoke on the front end of the driveshaft. Cleaning and re-greasing (with Ford slip yoke grease) resolves the problem...but only temporarily. After a month of driving, the grease has (mostly) been pushed away from the splines and, then, the yoke binds, again. Can't re-grease my slip yoke, monthly. As a result of the slip yoke not slipping, the movement - that the slip yoke is supposed to accommodate - has to go somewhere. Consequently, the tranny and transfer case pitch upwards (one possible clunk?) Also, while investigating the issue, and lightly accelerating against wheel chocks at the front wheels, I noticed the rear leaf spring inverting (buckle, upwards) (second clunk?) Third clunk might be the slip yoke, finally, giving way and slipping. Anyways, many Fords with this slip yoke design have this issue. As well as re-greasing my slip yoke, I'm going to check to see if there's loose, or bad, mounts on the tranny. I figure that if the tranny and transfer case aren't able to move (or move as much as they do) and, thereby, be the "accommodation" factor rather than the slip yoke , that might force the slip yoke to, actually, slip and do what it's supposed to do. As for the pinging, I've watched several videos on resolving the issue. Yes, might be running too lean. Also, might have some carbon build up (110,000 miles), or it might be a timing issue, or it might be spark plug gap..or, all of the above. Not sure whether that engine has a knock sensor but, if it does, it should be adjusting the timing...if it's a timing issue. After checking other possible causes, if it has a knock sensor, I'll have to see if there's some info on whether a knock sensor can be tested to see if it's working.

@@rhymeswithteeth It does have a knock sensor. Located in the valley under the intake manifold. I’ve never seen one go bad. Definitely will make a video on spark plugs, I’m sure a lot of people would like to learn that.

So, if it has a knock sensor, and if they seldom go bad, then I'd have to assume the timing is correct and that the problem is caused by 1.) incorrect spark plugs 2.) incorrect gap 3.) running too lean 4.) carbon build up 4.) O2 sensors(?) How about doing a video not just on spark plugs for a Ford Ranger 4.0L (and other Fords with that engine) but, rather, resolving pinging from a 4.0L engine. @@rhymeswithteeth I replace things and make videos as things break on vehicles I own. I’ve never had a vehicle ping so it would be impossible for me to recreate it.

It’s called a fuel line disconnect tool. Can be purchased online or at your location auto parts store.

Did replacing the fuel filter help you? I’m having the same problem with sluggish up hills and hardly no power. Only thing I can think of is replacing the fuel injectors.

@billywillie23 I changed fuel filter didn't help so replaced one dead fuel pack and all plugs runs like a top 156,000 miles now

@@iamdjnam non, but I recently replaced the cat on bank 2 and changed both sensors on that side, it was always at 0 volts, no its mostly at 0.1 un less I press hard on the throttle

@@iamdjnam the cat was broken in several pieces inside, sounded like bouncing rocks, so I am afraid it will go bad again

I used a scan tool to read the pressure

Let it sit for a few hours you’ll be good. I usually remove it like 10 mins after lol sometimes I just get sick of waiting.

Oil is leaking out of the valve cover and shorting the spark to the plug. Common issue. Fix it or blow the valley out once a month.

@@iamdjnam okay thank you for getting back to me so soon. Will there be any major damageb if I just blow it out regularly? Lol I thought the plugs was a pain in the ass. Its seems like a whole other ball for the valve cover gasket
