Sue Robinson hi Sue - yes I still use the same recipes, but I have expanded what I use. I did buy the Australian Floetrol and am using that until I run out. It works great and for me it was primarily a function of not wanting to smell the wood conditioner ( it really stinks), but the recipe I provide is also good and my go-to when not using the Aussie product. If you find it too thick, don’t be afraid to add a little more Floetrol or acrylic ink. Just don’t add mor wood conditioner since that will throw it off. For the “ pillow” I use ColorPlace in this one, but for some reason the Walmart near me was out to I got the Gliden Essentials White in Satin at Home Depot and am quite pleased with it. For your paints, again if they are too thick, add some acrylic ink or Liquitex Flow Aid to help it along. Finally, have fun! It takes time to get the hang of it so keep experimenting 😊

Hi Laurie - for paint ratios, I don't really measure. I use Golden fluid acrylic and add a few drops at a time until I get close to the color that is in the bottle. This is also great if you want to use different hues of the same color. As for the cell activator, currently I am using Aussie floetrol, but I believe this piece was done with US products, the recipe for which can be found in video #28. Happy painting 😊

Honestly, I’ve used many variations depending on the technique with pretty consistent results. The easiest, of course, is Floetrol, but I would add a bit of GAC 800 to prevent crazing. It’s something you have to experiment to see what works for you since there are many environment considerations that influence results.
