Soft and Cuddly was released by The Powerhouse in 1987 for the ZX Spectrum. It goes out of its way to try to offend. So let's take a look.

You really went all out on this bad boy of a game. It's got to be the the most messed up looking thing I've ever seen in 8 bit. Now I just hope I won't have bad dreams about that zombie head thingy. :)

@@medes5597 Aw thanks dude! My original script was slightly more graphic - Sarah made the right choice by cutting it shorter - more funny and less disturbing on reflection. 😋 Was a huge honour for me to be invovled with this I'm the hugest fan of her work 😍

Wow I forgot about that b-side song! I played this as a kid, I remember it being great value at £1.99 instead of £2.99 like the other budget games at the time.. the pile of heads haunted me for a while.. in a good way ^-^

Saw a stream from Dr Ashen mentioning this game and decided I really should look into it - I never had a Spectrum growing up, being probably a trifle too young, so I never really could peg just where the graphics were, apart from "probably somewhere between Pong and the NES". I figured there couldn't be too much gore you could do with that few pixels, but bless him, he did yeoman's work. Presuming that the yeoman in question hit a sheep with his scythe and then arranged the corpse on the field with a little sign saying "BLEEERGH I BET YOU'RE ALL SCARED OF THIS SCYTHE SHEEP YA NORMIES"

Wow. Loved this 😆. I remember this game getting a bad rep back in the day but so did many games of that time. They proverbialy shit the bed when doom was released though. Fantastic video Octav1us

I was starting to get suspicious that the outfit from the thumbnails had nothing to do with the seven days of spoops. Also thank goodness there was a bit of smooth ragtime at the end to come down from the high of the scariest episode yet. From the editing and commentary, not the game itself though.

My guess is that the copyright strikes she had recieved have been removed, and therefor these videos popped back up, so she probably haven't un-private'ed them herself. That's my guess at least.

HAhahahahhahaha, that was freaking awesome video. And that game is kind of my jam, the artwork is creepy and bonkers at the same time. A lot more unique then all the zombies and monsters we get in games these days. Like all forms of art, its beauty in the eyes of the beholder ... but gameplay wise, not that good game. Great job on the video Octav1us.

Loved your review of this game. I used to play it back then. Very weird game. If you have time, check a game called "Chiller" for the arcades. It would be pretty cool to see you reviewing it. :)
