@@ElliWoelfinot to mention electric cars will tear up our roads I mean its 1000-2000kg (2204-4408lbs) more per vehicle ripping on the road daily if we are all forced to switch and the roads are bad as is...

At what point do we need to require special licenses for some of these vehicles? The way we do crash safety is entirely oriented on the passengers with no regard for other cars or pedestrians. Ok, for pedestrians we require flat bumpers and killed the Miata flip up lights, but we ignore the biggest safety factor which is WEIGHT.

...when state dmvs charge ev registration fees based on vehicle weight, plates will be several hundred dollars/yr as they lose money on gasoline tax dollars

In the EU you would need a truck license to drive this truck as its weight is above 3500kg

In the UK you would need an HGV licence to drive one of these, and it might need a 56mph speed limiter. It doesn't really fit into the regs all that well...

⁠@@MV-ri7zu I’m not sure where you may have seen the dimensions of both the H1 and the EV but the EV is 32 inches longer than the H1 while having slightly more height and width

Being an enthusiast, I wanted to hate the Hummer EV. I made a reservation, and planned to just sell it. After my Edition 1 showed up, and I took it for one test drive I was sold. It’s stupid fun, and it gets even more fun when the top is off. I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s a giant 1,000hp AWD, AW Steering, factory pickup with adjustable air suspension and a fully removable top. It’s awesome. Glad you enjoyed it!

I remember the original Hummer from 20 years ago. Garish, over the top, and fascinating. The ultimate "LOOK AT ME!!" Hummer is back as an EV? It's still a rolling aircraft carrier and absurd beyond reason. I expect Tedward to be crushing Prisuses, Yarises, and more with that Hummer.

Chevy / Quality do not go together. My 2019 Loaded Duramax Denali would start idling weird when you went to put it into park. It would drop itself into park at 2600rpm + unless you turned it off. It would also downshift at any time without a rev match if you use the manual shifting on the steering column. 2016 and older Model S charges for free for life and drives itself too. imagine having to buy batteries for this it would be 40k.

This is a great video of a really unnecessary car. It really looks good for such a utilitarian vehicle, maybe build quality is good despite the trim not fitting that well. I am surprised that this vehicle fits in a normal parking spot. I know that American parking spots are big, apparently they are big enough. Here in The Netherlands, parking spots are 4.5 to 5 meters long, this car is 5.5 meters long. You need a truck (as in: semi-truck) driver's license to drive one. The fuel consumption is twice or thrice the consumption of an average European EV. You do not need this car, it is impractical. Still, I understand that some people will like this.

Everybody saying “it’s doesn’t make sense and that’s what makes it awesome” when in fact it does. This is GM’s ultimate electric vehicle right now. This is the perfect truck to learn from (use humans as test subjects as all manufacturers do) to develop smaller and more affordable electric vehicles. And it is also another option for those who don’t want a regular car. I personally want one💀… when I get the money.

years ago when the hummers were released, even if they were overpriced, i would see a lot of them where i live, even if it is a third world country, there's always people with a lot of money that doesn't care about the price and just buy one for their own personal reasons whatever they are, and yeah, the hummers were always admired here.

Rv do not and lots of terrible drivers out there renting and driving those. I don’t disagree with you. It’s too heavy. But there are heavier less maneuverable vehicles with worse brakes that require no more than a regular license

@@TedwardDrives I hear your point about rvs. However, RVs are intimidating to drive, and their lack of performance definitely don't encourage people to drive recklessly. They feel big bloated and heavy, and handle that way as well. This encourages the driver to slow down and take it easy. But I personally think even they should require a special license. If motorcycles do, why don't RVs?

They're getting tired of almost getting hit or ran off the road by Grandpa Max who's never driven anything bigger than a Prius, but just went out and bought his first 43ft RV

"Go back into normal mode, and nobody's the wiser." You're in a 9000lb pickup that some cars could drive under. They're the wiser. Pretty sure that thing has caused accidents from rubber neckers. And yes, I love it. I'd go for the SUV version, but I wouldn't turn down the pickup!

This thing weighs 50% more than an F-250 but can't out-tow a Chevy Colorado. A "truck" this heavy should be able to tow ten tons. What a waste. The taxpayers bail out GM and this is what we get in return.

They’ve sold way more that 2 of them. You’re referring to Q1 deliveries, many people got theirs last year, I’m one of them. Demand is crazy, reservation list is so long that they’re basically sold out for the next 4 years.
