Thx Scott for another great video! I am currently working a lot with tension and release in my improvisations, so this was very useful for me. Thx for the tip of thinking in note numbers rather than note letters. Just like in the Parker lick video, these small ideas help me a lot in my thinking and in my practicing.

Hey Timo! Thanks, yeah if you can make that transition it really makes things easier because the intervals sound the same in every key.

Excellent. So easy to do. Particularly easy on guitar but the listeners don't know or care about that!

It's not quite as easy on sax, but still a super effective improv trick

Super lesson Scott. You continue to teach me soo much. Very informative Sir. Jus a gentle reminder on the tenor altissimo notes which you use on your pmauriat. Thanks Sir.

Hi Scott. I'm fairly new to the sax and have to thank you for your videos, very to the point. I like that. Do you have videos on articulations. I'm having some trouble with that. And if possible what do u recommend to practice to get this going. Thanks.

Great lessons thank you :) btw how did you 'get' such a sharp sound? I have a very dark sound because I use a mouthpiece with a wide chamber, and use a classical reed etc but I also think it has to do with me blowing softly... do you have some tips on how to get that funky r&b/pop tone?

I use a small chamber mouthpiece with a large baffle. I'm going for a big focused sound that cuts through.

check out my video on Low Notes and the another one on 3 Tongue Positions. If those don't help, you may have a leak in your horn.
