VICII hosts a Burlington Mayoral Candidates Forum.
The Vermont Institute of Community and International Involvement (VICII), the Association of Africans Living in Vermont (AALV), and The Caroline Fund announce that they will co-sponsor a mayoral debate on January 21st, 2021 at 6:00 PM. In these COVID times of shut downs of the economy, culture, civil liberties, prohibitions on public gatherings, and the restrictions on much of City life, the debate will focus on the hopes and plans to recover, restore, reform and transform Burlington where people and their representatives can create a fair, just, prosperous, and beautiful community.
Thato Ratsebe, Associate Director and Programs Manager of AALV will welcome the candidates and the public. The participating candidates are, in alphabetical order, City Councilor Ali Dieng, City Council President Max Tracy, Mayor Miro Weinberger, and Patrick White, Mayoral candidate. Each candidate will make an opening statement, and members of the three sponsoring organizations will ask questions. Candidates will also have the opportunity to ask questions of one another.
