Airfix have been at this game a long time. I built my first kit way back in 1970 - a basic 1/72 scale Spitfire. It's just the aeroplane you have to build. This one looks like it is going to a top notch model when it is finished. There is certainly no more iconic an aeroplane to we British than this one. The Hurricane was the workhorse but the Spitfire was the looker.

Thanks Nick. You probably noticed the Hurricane that I left in the black & white montage footage?....I left it in deliberately for the very reason you have mentioned. The Hurricane is responsible for most of the success achieved by Fighter Command in WW2.
