Today on the workbench, this Mitchell B25 D-Day colors. The kit is an Academy 1/48 scale.
The fitting was not really good and the plan was a minimum clear. Very difficult to understand where some pieces were supposed to take place.
I had a big problem with the weight. At the end of the build, it wasn't enough. Academy didn't say anything about it in the plan. I had the to do some very delicate surgery to resolve the problem.
Good point for the masking and the decals wich are very easy to use.
If you have any questions, feel free as usual.
Hope you'll enjoy it!
Thanks for watching and please, suscribe and push that blue botton guys!!

Built this exact kit with my grandfather when I was a kid. Still have it today, although after forty four years it doesn’t look as good as this build.

Unlikely, since the first release of this kit was in 1999 from Accurate Miniatures. Perhaps you are thinking of the old Revell kit that dates back to 1968?

Terrific job, SS. A very enjoyable video with lots of great ideas shown. Great save with the tail sitting....you wouldn't even know that you had to cut your way in to add more weight. You must be very happy with the final result 👍

The Academy B-25C/D kit, like the Revell B-25 D kit is a rebox of the Accurate Miniatures kit of 20 od years back. That kit came with nose weights. Revell remind you to add weight, Academy didn't. Knowing the origin of the moldings helps. But you did a great job on that lovely Mitchell.

Anytime I build an Academy kit I try and go back and find the original Accurate Miniatures edition on Scalemates and download the instructions from there. Like having a second opinion on placement of parts, colors, etc. Also, as someone presently working on the Academy B-25D "Pacific Theater" and altering it to Doolittle Raider B, the Accurate Miniatures B instructions definitely address the nose weight issue. They actually had templates on the box that are intended to be rectangles of brass sheets cut to particular sizes to fill the spot you put the fishing weight. Nothing like this is on the box or included in the instructions for the Academy one as I recall.

Thank you for this very usefull comment. I wish I had such instruction in the kit to avoid a bad surprise.

Very nice to watch this build as I have just bought the same kit. You've given me plenty of ideas and food for thought! What weight did you eventually end up putting in the nose, I haven't got any weights in my kit so will have to purchase before I build. Thanks again for an excellent build video.

It's fantastic work, looks phenomenal! But couldn't you ditch the crappy music and actually talk and explain some of the things that you're doing? As a relatively new modeller (but 73 years old), I had so many questions while watching this video, and was pretty much left in the dark about how and why you were doing certain things. Fascinating to watch, especially how it turned out, but wish that I had learned more while watching..
