In Part 2 of this build series, I install the cockpit and nose gunner/Bomb aimer front seat with details, and bring the 2 fuselage sides together. I also discuss a tweak I have made to the belly turret.

I'm really enjoying watching this build as I have bought this kit today, and so it will be interesting to see what the difference is between the two. I do need to study some pictures of the "Memphis Bell B-17 and gather some more information. One modification which you have carried out and I really like is the rotating gun turret. The other thing which needs attention are the wheel covers from what I can see in the pictures I have viewed online so far. Unforantly for me visiting an aircraft museum isn't an option for me and so will be relying on the information I find online and in books.

Your model build is very good. And I'm very impressed with how well you're doing it I'm building the same exact model right now. The one thing I can tell you when it comes to revell models do not go by there painting instructions because they are not accurate. The real Memphis Belle is inside an aviation museum. Which there are videos on KZfaq about her restoration and then repainting her from everything I've seen of her she is zinc chromate Green from nose to tail...... Which is the interior I painted on. They did the exact same thing on their b-29 model saying the point the nose zinc chromate green and the tail zinc chromate green but the paint the Bombay silver. I've seen the Bombay on a b-29. It's zinc chromate green also. I'm so I usually toss the Revell painting instructions aside. They're painting guide for The PT-109 is the biggest example to be used as how inaccurate they are as it's totally. So take the painting instructions of any reveal kit with a grain of salt.

@@SimonWebbRCandModellingChannel your very welcome, as a fellow modeler I appreciate other modeler's work especially when it is as realistic as yours. you did a very awesome job on this model. and it looks very real to the actual plane. I am very impressed. as for the advice just wanted to pass on what I have come to learn about Revell model kits. and their instruction sheet where as painting is concerned.....their plane and ship kits tend to be the worse at being incorrect. Thank you for the heart and reply, Keep up the awesome work I enjoy seeing your video's. And you can just call me Cj.

absolutely agree , and don't forget restored aircraft would be "modern" painted wheras wartime they would generally be left unpainted inside rear fuselage to save weight .

Simon could you tell me what airbrush set up you were using for the painting of this model.Looking for a decent set up to buy and use on down the road.tanx again for the steps.

Hi Bill, yes I use Harder and Steenbeck kit.....I have 4 actually....but all are very good airbrushes. I have an AS Twin Cylinder compressor as it takes a shorter length of time to replenish the tank. I hope this helps. I may do a video on my set up for you. 🙂👍

enjoying you build - but isn't that shiny green plastic horrible !! why they moulded it in that colour is a mystery - if it was olive drab it would make more sense !
