#1 Best Coffee in a Can

Testing all the black canned coffees available at my local grocery stores - SO MUCH CAFFEINE!
This is really just for my own “research” and entertainment... If you want an actual coffee expert, I’d HIGHLY suggest checking out @jameshoffmann. I’m a big fan of his; the videos on his channel have taught me at least 80% of what I know about coffee.
To qualify for this test, coffees must:
1. Be available at a nearby grocery store: Whole Foods, Pavilions, Gelson's, Lassen's, H Mart, or Bristol Farms.
2. Be in a can, not a glass bottle (because I feel like that’s probably the most environmentally-friendly option).
3. Be “black,” so no milk or sugar content. It’s too easy for a company to just pour in sugar and cream to have it taste better, but we’re truly looking for the best COFFEE here.

I had a Blue Bottle at a Blue Bottle Coffee Bar in San Francisco and liked it a lot. Was the only one I knew in the row of your Coffeelympics, because Germany has different brands and I love my milk with coffee and usually at home. French Press for the win!

Yes. You have the right idea about doing a rinse in between but cleansing the palate is a little more chemical than using water unfortunately. As you might know, in wine tasting the taster eats a bit of cheese to clear the taste of the first wine before tasting the second. I'm not sure what is the best way to do it with coffee, but... Nice idea

Holy smokes, I had no idea this many brands of black cold brew coffee existed! Fingers crossed some of these, or domestic brands start making these, arrive in Canada soon as I am intrigued

I'm just floored by the variety of black coffees in cans available to you. They mostly only sell those coffee, milk and sugar concoctions here. I wish we had that...instead of me having to pay through the nose for usually pretty awful hot coffee, when I want my fix 'on the go'.

Without a consistent palate cleanser, I'd take these findings with a grain of salt, But overall I don't think there would be too much difference in those final results. I wouldn't do the test over unless the palate cleanser was a sponsor... so maybe do it again, Yet only consider it after some time of rest to refresh before undertaking a second edition. 😇

Back when I drank coffee I loved those single origin floral varieties! Can't handle the caffeine nor the acidity nowadays though.

Italy here, I can't find coffee in a can😔 We have espresso culture here, and it's very good, so I guess that i the reason. But I love coffe and I would have loved to have it that way too... Plus this could be useful for making drinks and stuff :(

No palate cleanser between tastes? Is that a thing with coffee tasting like with wine tasting? I've wanted to do a big coffee tasting thing like this too. I don't like floral fruity coffee at ALL.

Lefie ,have you ever made your own cold brew/cold coffeee? Would be interesting to know. When I have is hard to rid a slight "fridge" taste. But it can save $$, cheers & thanks.

an opened baking soda will absorb any odors in your fridge, change every 3 months. hope that helps.

You wish you had more range to choose from!? I don't even think we have black coffee in a can here in the Netherlands... To be honest, I don't think I miss it, but I'm still very curious. We do have cappuccino and latte in a can and it is not great.

I havent seen coffee in a can here in Germany so far (except one from Starbucks I think). I would love to try some of these, especially the ones you called "floral". But I dont think the fact that RedBull is pumping through my veins mainly, will ever change. Its happiness in a can for me and thats what makes it dangerous. Your winner also has one of the most minimalist designs...subconsciously influenced ? ;)

Ah... The throwaway can.. If ur at home just make a real coffee and cool it instead of buying something that has been shipped hundreds of miles in a Throwaway can.. (yes, it can be recycled but that requires more energy and shipping again burning dirty oil.. Sodastream, home brew, and real coffee/tea. Just add water.. At home... From a tap.
