Nearly two hundred people were injured and many were killed in the attack. At this time we need you very much because the journalists of our country are on the side of the government. I was told by an avid follower of Carl Jung that when waking from a dream, first notice the feeling the dream expressed and then ask yourself if that’s a feeling your aren’t allowing yourself to experience in your conscious life. The purpose of our dreams is to keep us mentally balanced. Basically to keep us sane.

Another way to use your dreams is to ask a question just before going to sleep and your subconscious will work on it while you are sleeping. This has worked for me several times. Once I forgot where I hid some jewelry. It took a few nights but on a Sunday morning I woke up and like a zombie walked to the place where I had hidden them. Or if you are indecisive about something ask for help consistently. You will be guided.

I'm so happy that a neurosurgeon is FINALLY talking about dreams and premonitions explaining this with science as in the past, science was too quick to dismiss dreams as fodder which is offensive to those of us who predict so many things via our dreams

Yes! I have extremely vivid dreams where I wake up from a deep sleep with ideas... I also have dreams that are premonitions. Throughout my whole life, I dream of circumstances, conversations and even major life events. I'm glad it's getting the recognition it deserves rather than being swept under the rug.

I had a brain haemorrhage, eight years ago, and the dreams I had after I woke out of my coma, were surreal and reoccuring. The concepts of the dreams were like: a pile of people dead on top of me and I couldn't move or feel my body; me calling out for help and no one can hear me; me talking to someone I knew and and having them reply with, "I'm not Wendy, I'm a nurse at St George Hospital", etc. Turned out I had the haemorrhage, became paralysed(couldn't move or feel my body), calling out for help(in my coma, and no one could hear me- I was just reliving it), trying to speak to "Wendy's" better nature(turned out to be a nurse by my ear telling me she's not Wendy, she's a nurse).... Anyway, after I came to, the hospital provided a neuro-psychologist, and she said, "your brain knows your body is in danger(I had emergency brain surgery, and was swollen) and is trying to put two and two together to help you understand, but it doesn't have two and two, it has two, four, yellow, square, and fire, and it's creating stories to let you know you can't move, you can't be communicated with, and you're surrounded by strangers" it was wild. And what's weirder; two years before I had the haemorrhage, I dreamt it. I recognised the ICU scene by sound, alone, in my coma. I definitely want to be part of a dream study.

For me lucid dreaming doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s a peacefulness beyond the waking life. You travel to far away places and you know you’re dreaming and flying to all kinds of places. They’re very vivid, colorful, and yet when I wake up I was energized, motivated, and felt as like I was given a gift that was priceless. I’ve never forced a lucid dream and never knew what it was until lately hearing the term. For me they’re very rare but when I get them it’s a force to be acknowledged. As the day or week or month goes on bits and pieces comes to light in your inner soul that explains parts of it but not all of it. Leaves some mystery for your soul to wonder about.

5"00 "In certain diseases dreams come to the rescue." Yes, when I had cancer one dream was of a positive loop device which lit up when good news was played from or recorded into it. In another dream a healthy fattened cow told me to get well. I felt such intense love from the cow and hugged it. Both dreams gave me the message that love and positivity will help me heal.

How many lucid dreamers are watching!? I've been a lucid dreamer my whole life, and can recall vivid dreams as early as 3 almost 4 years old. In my personal experience I've regularly dealt with sleep paralysis accompanied with my dreams and as a teenager I often carried fragments of my dreams into waking consciousness like a blur between realities. I still deal with sleep paralysis but I'm able to will myself free easier and faster by shifting my head until my body wakes up. My head feels significantly heavier than usual while I'm doing this but all it takes is a firm will! As they say mind over matter. Occasionally I go through what I call "Slip-Wakings". I'm entering the sleep state and the dreaming begins to take shape, my body can sense the paralytic state taking effect and so my waking mind flares back as I'm trying to wake myself up in panic. I belive my almost automatic panicked reaction is the result of years having lucid nightmares accompanied with paralysis. During one of these episodes I had last year, at the moment when body paralysis and clear consciousness collide, instead of indulging panic and the desperate desire to wake my body back up, I decided to feel the stillness and wholeness of my body. I had the clear desire to experience flight, as I've never flown in my dreams. After connecting to my body, I started to imagine my arms flapping, and no fucking joke, the very thought sent an electrifying sensation throughout my entire body as if it had been lit up. For those of you who understand the feeling of frisson when listening to music or poetry, it was similar to that but completely magnified on a whole other level, it was electrifying and I flew as a great heron over crystal clear waters that reflected the sky like the salt flats of Brazil after spring showers. It was magical, and unlike anything I've experienced in dreams as otherworldly and complex as they are. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Hi, my sister has the same sleep paralysis. This happens when she drinks an excessive amount of tea. She awakens, eyes are open, hears what is happening around her, is unable to communicate or move. Stopped drinking tea, and this condition stopped. At home she would call it her tea dreams. Maybe it's caffeine related? Hope this is helpful ❤.

I’m definitely a lucid dreamer and have been as long as I can remember. I have held on to a few aspect dreams that repeats in a similar form and feel. I also experience sleep paralysis yet it’s not as intense as it was when I was a child. I even have a weird sensation in my dreaming state of sinking into the bed when I drink red wine that is so frightening that I have to wake myself up constantly in fear of sinking to my death. Another interesting thing I experience when I dream is being able to use a fell safe when in danger of falling or drowning I just tell myself that I can breathe underwater in at a depth where there is still sunlight yet I’m not trying to reach the surface or the dark depths. It’s crazy how much of my dreams are recalled. I even intentionally recall word for word conversations details and sequences of events. My dreams slip into different dreams yet I can trace the dream as it changes so it’s like a long dream with different chapters.

I fully believe that our dreams is another way to see our life in another dimension. whenever you close your eyes to dream, you view your life from a different life, like a alternate universe. This is why all dreams are different, but always have the same people in your life - dealing with different situations. Honestly this is the only thing that makes sense to me.

Whenever i set the intention before bed to lucid dream, i imagine I'm in a dream and I use the mantra "i am dreaming" over and over. I almost always lucid dream and the more i do it the easier it gets. You can quite literally lucid dream if you just set the intention before bed. I have met with my dad in my dreams to fly together. We both set the intention before bed and though our dreams were quite different, we both met with eachother and flew.

My own experience with dreams is that they are occasionally prophetic and usually capture subtle layers of my waking life. Themes that repeat are usually me working out issues. The freedom from judgements and restrictions that my conscious self would impose on my dreams makes them healing and means i usually wake up rebalanced. In modern life we don't think about it so much, but there are plenty of things we don't understand. What does consciousness arise out of? Whatever it is - whatever it is it seems like many creatures (other animals besides humans dream too) return each night to that generative pool. Glad we are starting to pay more attention to an activity that we

I went to sleep thinking about the images and turned them into one-dimensional, like a photo on paper. My dreams feel as real as if I was awake. Except for the confusion of being at many places at any given time. I can feel, smell, touch, and even my conversations in a dream are pretty straightforward. Just 2 nights ago I had a conversation in my dream with my ex's sister. Even telling her in my dream that I dreamt we had this conversation. When I woke up, I was confused about what really happened. Then I snapped out of it, realizing it was a dream. I have also dreamt about my loved ones who have passed on another world in the universe. Days later I see similar planets that have just been discovered on KZfaq with stunning detail to my dream. It's weird feeling to wake up from a dream, to think it was real life. Welllll, what is real life?

My dream life is so important to me. I’ve been recording my dreams for over 20 years now and want to compile them all in a book at some point. I also find it easy now to see what they are about and how they relate to what’s going on in my life. I also have had many dreams that have come true ie. Been precognitive in nature. As well as having some extremely scary , spiritual, deep dreams that have led to me questioning reality as well as lucid dreams. Anyway great. More people should look at their dream lives with more importance.

Really enjoy this talk. Just got the audiobook. 🎉 I have premonition dreams once in a while. Usually to protect me from a negative event. I can recognize it when is happening so I get out of the scenario to a space i can be alone to remember everything and prevent as much as I can the "disaster". Alcohol and sugar reduce my ability to remember my dreams.

I dream almost every night. It’s like I have another night life. When I try to describe them to my husband, it takes me hours. My dreams go through places over and again, same houses in different stages, and always places I’m forbidden to go. I also know that if I go off the property of the place, I won’t find my way back. And yes, I’m exhausted when I wake up.

Hello Jay, just watched this last night 7/19 and boy oh boy it's as though the Universe said "here ya go" everything you've been asking in regards to not only dreams but other dimensions in which I visit during sleep consciousness ❤ last night I set an intention to sleep all night and to wake up refreshed and YES indeed it happened. I set another intention to remember my dreams and indeed it happened. I received a visit from an ex boyfriend who is passed! Just beautiful! Thank you for this amazing insight 😊❤

Just before falling to sleep you can ask to dream about something specific. I once asked to dream that I was in the casino and see the next winning bet and the betting amount on the roulette wheel. That night I had the following dream. I was in a casino at a roulette table and i had a bet of 10$ on the line between 17 and 18. When I woke up I remembered the dream and was pretty excited. That night I went to the local casino. I bought 10$ of chips and placed the bet and left the table for the restroom. When I got back, I had won 175$. Litterally making money in my sleep. Predicting the future too. Your welcome.

My grandma ( who died years before ) she came into my dream and told me to watch my daughter around the shop .. and next day happened at the shop . I won’t talk much about it right now just wanna say thank God I had that dream Two years ago I had lots of drama around my life and my kids and my dad ( died too year before ) he came into my dream to calm me down and answer my questions .. I had few more warring dreams and all happened as they showed.. I remember dream almost every day . Have very emotional dreams many times . The worst I do remember is about my kids death .. we in the middle of Europe believe if U dream about someone’s death and they still alive means they will live a long life .. With regards to his response about reconciliation dreams… if we can be trained to have lucid dreams and, as I understand them based on my limited research and personal experience, we can alter a dream while in that state, then it would be safe to say we can train ourselves to have dreams of forgiveness and reconciliation. Just my thoughts to add to the convo.

Thanks so much for this conversation, it’s brought some great insights on future navigation of dreaming. My previous mindset about meanings of dreams was heavily influenced by superstitions. On another note, I have been using a meditation app that has a deep sleep function. When I sleep to that music, my dreams are vividly wild and I remember them after waking.

I tasted the most delicious peanut sauce and the sweetest coconut cocktail in two separate dreams years apart. These two dreams stood out because i realised my taste buds exploded in its breadth of sensory palate while dreaming. There was another dream where my chest was itchy and i spent the whole dream scratching my chest for relief. The sensory feeling in the skin felt really authentic. I wonder if anyone else has expanded sensory feelings besides sight, sound and emotions in their dreams?

1:38:47 I absolutely loved this podcast. I love the dreamworld! I hit the bottom when I fall in dreams and it will repeat over and over each fall resulting in a different pain and/or injury, yet the start of the dream is always the same. I’ve found this extremely intriguing. I’ve also astral travelled since childhood however, can’t induce them as the fear consumes me. The vibrational frequencies are far too strong for me to endure when I drop into that state. Recently my dreams have taken a dark turn. I was putting it down to being in emergency housing which retains a lot of trauma throughout the complex both from residual energy from previous tenants and fresh pain, violence, prostitution and so on which is really hard to bear, especially as I’ve not personally been around such darkness…..I started dreaming of being set on fire and not able to escape my flat. I’ve only dreamed of fire when I was pregnant and no affiliation with issues of fire, although I find fire in general quite relaxing. I always wished as a child to one day, record my dreams and have journaled many times over the years, studied Carl Jung, read many books and articles….fascinating stuff. Thank you for sharing this podcast. I throughly enjoyed the insight, observations, research and general discussions. “Systemic resilience-what you bring to the fight Processive resilience-what the fight brings out in you” I feel elevated after this session, honestly I feel honoured 🦋

I have epilepsy, and my aura (feeling just before having a seizure) feels like my brain is being quickly pulled into a very familiar dream that’s happening in that moment. My seizures are not convulsive. I don’t remember, but I’ve heard that I stare at what’s around me like I’ve never seen trees or walls before. A few minutes later, I’m still unaware, but I can function somewhat. After 30 minutes or so, I start to come out of it. When I regain awareness, I realize I’m wearing two different shoes or maybe I’m drinking my coffee black. Dreaming is incredibly spiritual to me. I feel it’s where me and my non physical spirit meet up. My epilepsy is an open door.

Great topic, my feeling is he remains on a superficial level. If you read C G Jung you feel how dreams express deep cultural wisdom and archetypical knowledge across all cultures, regardless of them having been in contact. Freud examined how dreams manage to circumvent the censorship of the mind in a funny way and provided lots of examples. Fascinating topic.

Nightmares are individual. When I was a child, in my own room, I would dream about having a bunk bed; a "dracula" would attack me in the top bunk. It also overlaid with parts of my childhood town. I had it repeatedly, and finally, I told my Mom. She said, "If you can figure out that you're in a dream and not wake up too much, kill the dracula/vampire. How do you kill it?" I answered, "Garlic but that's just fluff. It will irritate him like it would anyone, but not kill him." She said, "How do you kill him?" I said, "A stake?" She said, "Try that." The next time I had the nightmare, I awoke myself enough, but not too much. I stabbed it in the heart with a stake. I never had that nightmare again. I did think about it when I had recurring nightmares. I awakened myself just enough to deal with the issue. Then, I fell back into full slumber. Thank you, Mom!! Dreams are everything they have discussed. They are also adjustable if we can wake up *just enough*. "try not to be too rigid. Try to be open minded." ... "Lucid dreaming.. in control."
