I had similar problems in my hyosung, few things I did: 1. Added an extra high strength wire direct from battery to rectifier... Which solved my charging issues. 2. Changed a ignition coil... One of the big culprits 3. Cleaned the ignition coil grounding points which were rusted. 4. The wiring bunch near the twin chassis which was rubbing against the chassis and one wire had cut and was grounding to the body and that was a green wire... Maybe it's the same wire which is discussed in this video. 5. Cleaned injectors using professional guys

The old spit on the exhaust pipes is a good method as well.

Before IR thermometers were consumer goods we used our spray bottle of light dish detergent/water mix (for mounting tires) to spray each head pipe in turn while the engine was running. It shows weak/dead cylinders easily on single and dual wall exhaust pipes.

Is the "spit on your finger" method considered too dangerous these days?

when doing the demo you should ground the disconnected lead or you risk frying the CDI. (Spark gap limits the output high voltage.)

Had a problem with an engine that has Siamese intake ports. Hole in the manifold which was under a cover. Leaned out 3 and 4 and burnt a valve

The temp sensor guns come in handy and are cheap enough. Got mine in Aldi and you can stand back and point the laser at the target. No need to get it up close.

I just use a spray bottle of water. If the header is firing it’ll evaporate instantly. If it’s not it’ll stay wet 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 so would replacing the spark plug sort this?

Or you could just look to see which plug lead Matt has removed 😁 or you could pull off one plug lead at a time to find the cylinder that is not firing and diagnose problem from there could be a plug, plug lead fual starvation. coil or compression test for a valve or head gasket issue

Easy fix. Pull the spark plugs out of another cylinder. If cylinder 2 isn't firing, pull the plug from cylinder 4. You can make a very inefficient 2 cylinder.

Dont use the laser temp probe, use the universal contact thermometer (aka tongue) we'll be able to tell the temp by your facial expression at contact.

Helped none. Lol. Can your v twin have a bad coil if it takes revving the engine about 2k rpm to get them both going? I just dis my Yamaha plugs about 1000mi ago. I doubt it failed. When I road 2 weeks ago it was fine, let it sit since, fired it up and here we are. I put fuel treatment and octane, same result.

I use to pull the sparkplug cables. If it gets worse then it was a running cylinder and if nothing changes at all I know that this is the little fucking bastard that is not playing well with the others. That saves me from melting one after the other temperature jobby's ;) And I do not even need to go to my garage and can do that on the road on many bikes where you can reach the cables without removing a shit load of things to get there.

Hey mate, Could you please help me out ? This is happening to my bike and I’m sort of clueless on what could be causing. I have recently replace the ecu and tps and did the calibration and now this is what’s happening .. It’s a Cfmoto 650nks 2015 model. I haven’t pulled the coil or spark plug to check. The fuel injectors I took it off and cleaned as well as new fuel pump and fuel filter recently.
