I can suggest a trip to Perugia during Umbria jazz Festival from 12th to 21st July. The city in that period becomes very beautiful with free concerts and street parades all day long. A lot of Americans come, including famous ones: a few years ago Lady Gaga came and last year Johnny Depp was there too. You will like it!

Secondo me, dovresti visitare Torino! Credo sia la citta piu bella del nord, e fra quelle grandi, la meno italiana di aspetto, senza dubbio! Mi pare di aver capito che ti piace poco la solarita' e ami la montagna, credo che sia la citta possa avvicinarsi piu a cio che ami, perlomeno per me e cosi! Una citta misteriosa, quasi da alchimisti hahahaahha 😊

Great stuff, as always! What about San Marino? I've never seen it, and it's somewhat between you two (Bologna & Rome). My other suggestion is Cinque Terre - amazing for photos, obviously, and a fun rush to try to hit all five towns in one day.
