Sc2, BAR (Beyond all Reason) and AoE4 have been getting almost equal gameplay from me. There is a lot more to BAR and AoE4 than appears on the surface. Eg. In aoe4 calvary units have a "charge" spearmen will "brace" The unit control is BAR is amazing. Feels like an actual step forward in the evolution of rts army control. The aircraft plays like aircraft, requiring planning out of bombing runs. Both aoe and bar interact a lot more with the maps and terrain, adding diversity to games. BAR artillery plays a lot with trajectories with height and sight lines playing a big role. The variety of resources and side objectives keep aoe games different from eachother and throughout the game.

BAR is incredible, would very much like to see uthermal explore the vast strategic options. His APM with the unit control BAR natively offers would make for a religious viewing experience.

Hallo Marc. I got an idea for a new challenge. The rule is to build each unit once before you are allowed to build a 2nd unit of each. As soon you got 2 of each, you are allowed to build the third of each unit. and so on ... of course if you lose a unit in between, it can/must be rebuilt immediately. I guess you will be able to haras and defend from begin of the match, and in the end you got several small armies or 1 big which should be very powerful, at each race. It will be a micro nightmare, but you are the only one who could make it look very easy. Hope you read this comment and try it. However, gl hf

I like the idea of new RTS games, but I absolutely don't understand what I'm looking at when I see them. I barely played any SC2, but the units ended up seeming fairly easy to understand. That's the difference for me, I have no understanding of what is going on in the new games and it seems like you barely understand what is going on either. Makes it all difficult to watch, but I have enjoyed some of the sick micro even if I don't know what unit is being controlled

@@Azzurite apparently Collapsed Galaxy (1) has been a thing for like I dunno 15 years, I just found out it existed yesterday, it's basically a straight SG clone from what I can tell on youtube lol. the SG servers are actually still up I think people play it but no one was on when I fired it up (I think people play at 8 am EST) :D Collapsed Galaxy might actually be active right now I haven't looked much into it yet.

The strength of character for the player of that first game to gg was refreshing and commendable. Have you tried Warhammer 40K Dawn of war complete edition? It's old, but you may find some merit to the game. Dawn of War 2 is much more squad based, and Dawn of War 3 is derided by many 40K and old Dawn of War fans.

I think the best balance to mines is limit its worker kill count per "attack", per drone. Make it like 3-4 so it can't kill 40.. in one attack, but can still kill zealots in the masses or zergs since that is user error. the problem with workers is its to heavily imbalance in a game swing. AOE2 tip.... the move command with trebuchets in your group, won't unpack your treb and it can have a sub shift command setup for building priority. If you use R (attack move) for your group your trebs will unpack and join your forces to the new attack area.
