1 hour of archaic, meditative paleoambient to take you on an atmospheric journey deep into the planet's past. Witness the dawn of complex life on Earth - the mysterious Paleozoic-Mesozoic era. We embark on a voyage through the ancient Devonian seas and immense swampy forests of Carboniferous; across the amphibian Permian landscapes; up to the tropical Triassic, Jurassic and into Cretaceous - the final dominion of dinosaurs, titanic reptilian beasts.

In eons long passed, the world was not Man's, but Beast's. This collection is a perfect encapsulation of the anarchy of nature. Of kill or be killed. Of the intrinsic chaos that has defined life on this earth for untold hundreds of millions of years. Amazing stuff 💜

Chaos without order is just destructive, while order without chaos is unable to create life. There is no ontological chaos or order, instead both are inherent in a strange kind of harmony, creating complexity out of pure nothingness.

Csaba Pongor, behold the great race of yith and the massive mega bugs of the Carboniferous or the elder things with great birds and reptiles of the Jurassic, or the deep ones surrounded by plesiosaurs and mosasaurs of the Cretaceous, the star born of Cthulhu swimming with the placoderms of the Devonian, but it’s not just limited to Lovecraftian monsters, but to the imagination and what you can make yourself believe...

I meditate in the shower to this and outside, it allows me to look past all these modern things and problems, and really get in touch with just being me, a human, one of billions, outside I can feel the spent fires of titans long dead bellow my feet, when you look past yourself especially with the help of this amazing music nature becomes far more clear, you become less than what you think you are , and become what you are, an animal, plain and simple, a powerful, hungry, beast that managed to tame the world we were so graciously given to look upon and touch, amazing job guys, you kill it everytime

I'm a long-time dinosaur and paleontology fan, I make dinosaur avatars on Second Life, my partner is about to run Tomb of Annihilation for our D&D group, and I'm writing my second fantasy novel wherein the characters go on a voyage to a lost world region full of, you guessed it, dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures. Giant amphibious creatures swim through swamps while armored fish hide in the reeds, ancient reptiles resembling both lizards and dinosaurs crawl across the land with the most odd of organisms in the past along the forests edge overlooking the wondrous clear depths of the oceans, ancient creatures climbing, flying, swimming, and looking amazingly ancient and beautiful like the music, the imagination can bring to life wonderful ancient things and otherworldly aliens from our own past. BEHOLD THE GREAT BEASTS OF OLD!!! And the Great Race Of Yith off to the side because why not something out of the Cthulhu mythos, it fits in with the times listed between the Carboniferous and Cretaceous.

Reminds me of Lost Eden, by Kryo & Virgin Interactive. As a premise, a world where weak (but resourceful) humans lived with powerful dinosaurs side by side. I think this shows the darker side of that period: harrowing, almost alien beauty mixes into lethal, ever present danger. ED: actually, the whole continuum.
@MrDraehl
@MrDraehl 6 жыл бұрын
Amazing, as always! I love how you incorporate a lot of bass into the mix. From the drums to the roars there's so much low end, I love it! I'm curious (and this is meant 100% as a compliment) but have you ever considered taking this amazing aesthetic into a more "traditional" song-like direction? I also love Neofolk stuff like Wardruna/Danheim/Heilung and a Paleowolf prehistoric spin on that dark folk style of music would be incredibly interesting!
@Paleowolf
@Paleowolf 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you like it. I know what you're saying, as a matter of fact Paleowolf's early music was more "tribal", incorporating structure with the accent on drums. The initial idea was to create something in the dark folk sense but themed with prehistoric era. It just happened so that the music slowly drifted off into dark ambient, while still incorporating tribal / rhytmic elements, which turned out to be great combination by itself. I actually do have a couple tracks made in that "early" style, and the track I'm currently working on is close to your vision. I'm thinking the next album would accentuate that "rhytmic" dimension quite a lot.

I've begun writing a fantasy story of a "Primal Empire", created in the ancient past of a far alternate Earth, that believes, as did its founder, in the importance of nature, raw power, and unbreakable, "politically incorrect" primal cycles to life itself. This music is perfect to their formation story.

What exactly is the prehistoric part on this?? Sounds pretty electronic to me, none of these sounds make any sense

It's the part where it says "ambient". Ambient or ambiental music is defined as electronic music. So no one tricked you into watching this expecting that I went back in time and recorded the Mesozoic fauna with an iPhone handheld microphone. The purpose od ambiental music is to artificially invoke the atmosphere (ambiance) of whatever. Be it "old church", "elevator", "winter", or "prehistoric", it's a kind of a soundtrack to a movie that you watch in your head.

I don’t believe a word of the popular Darwinist Hypothesis/Supposition regarding Earth’s and Life’s supposed.accurate scientific origin. Regardless, as a Christian Creationist, I find Paleowolf as thoroughly intensive contemplative combative compelling Inspiration! I'm always glad to see a comment like this, and even more glad to respond to it. Paleowolf's music is not necessarily connected to the evolutionistic perspective and "scientific" papers about Earth's age and does not negate creationistic perspective whatsoever. I myself am not easily convinced by the articles and any forcefed dogma for that matter. The way I look at it, the entire Universe was created with a purpose - that could've lasted millions, thousands of years or a couple of days. I am fascinated though by the concept of the Snowball Earth / Ice ages, and also progressive, sequential development of lifeforms, even though many of the theories do not hold the logical judgment. The Earth was old and strange at one period of its existence - that was either by the simple fact that the life back then wasn't as we know it, or there were catastrophies evidently going on at some point of time. As for humans, there are many factors that may have influenced the development. We may have been once a flourishing species, but something drove us into a cave-dwelling creatures battling for survival. These are the times this music is channeling, and that's about it.

@@Paleowolf Genuine Respect and Appreciation to You. I see multitudes of comments among your listeners going through the coercive, anti-critical thinking, bias dominated public school and collegiate education thought confinement establishments praising how they are inspired to inflexibly adore the Darwinist/Billions of Years Old Evolution Hypothesis while listening to what I regard as Your Thoroughly Spiritually Inspiring and Compelling Art! My comment is mean’t for THEM. To possibly-Miraculously compel someone to think outside the box of Atheistic Morality Despising Accidental Physical Universe Occurrence BULLSHIT! By saying Cenozoic or any other mind constraining supposition of Earth’s supposed distinctive historical aged life form categorical limitations! It imprisons a persons ability to perceive what critical Conscience-Based thought processes might lead them to REJECT based on comparative analysis of EVIDENCE! I’m an ex fanatical Darwinist/Billions of Years Earth promoter! I know now such suggestions are a dung heap of maggot infested subjective speculation! Respect and Love to you, agree or disagree, do as your innermost Conscience Compels you! Please watch Ben Stein’s: “Expelled, No Intelligence Allowed” film on KZfaq. If you and I were to now Venture into the Sacred Mystic Mountains of British Columbia or Nepal or Anarctia, I don’t think you would mind my comradeship! We Spiritually think ALIKE, I know that from your Splendid Consciousness Raising Nature Reverencing Music! God Be With You!

These variations on a theme pieces all basically sound the same. Droning, rumbling, drawn out moments of deep bass. There's really *no* *composing* to this. It's more of a montage of overlaying somewhat melodic sound effects . . . an assemblage. Passing them off as unique individual pieces is wholly dishonest.

Dinosaurs walked with man. There's no such thing Mesozoic or anything prehistoric unless you're talking about Noah's Flood which made most all fossils.
