Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals as James Bouknight scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

Dude plays defense just by being there. A lot of Hornets players were hesitant to go to the rim. At 1:48, he could even make the players hesitate to slash to the basket while guarding the three.

Not quite what I expected on the offensive end and still has much room to grow, efficiency will come over the season but he made up for his presence on the defensive end and the glass. The handles translated very nicely but his foot speed was slower than I expected in some places throughout the game. Also the shoot around kind of made it look like he had a hunch back but could be because of back muscle being put on idk. Has a lot of potential can't wait to see what he does this year when he finds his groove

That's actually what you would expect from his offense. He's still inconsistent with his shot and has an average to below average shooting pct. But that's a thing you don't need to worry about because he's got the form and he's 7'5, no one's gonna bother his shot. Just needs to work on that consistency.

Wemby seemed hurried and jittery on the offensive end but absolutely dominated physically at times and shows much potential. He played solid defensively and will improve offensively.

Great defense, great passing, great pace. He has the fundamentals that are hard to teach. Almost every great was inefficient coming in. Just had to consistently figure out where his spots are gonna be and get stronger in the post. Love is probably the least athletic big I’ve ever seen but he could consistently get to his spots without much effort. All depends of course he doesn’t play like a traditional big on offense but it wouldn’t hurt to utilize his size more efficiently than taking off balance jumpers when no one can really contest it anyways.

he has the fundamentals that all european players learn for the most part training here in the states has become all focus on euro step/double step back shots lots of "fancy" ball handling and 1 on 1 finishing can't forget about the little celebrations for every 3/dunk made as well

Did you even watch the game? You based your opinion on KZfaq highlights? Go watch the entire game. He has no coordination, provides very little effort on defense, and just stands there on the 3 point line or outside the paint, has poor offensive and defensive awareness, has weak legs, fumbled the ball on the low post at the minimum swipe from defenders, he is not aggressive enough... there was a teammate battling 2 defenders for an offensive rebound and he just stood there looking like James Harden... he bricked a 3 so bad that he made Westbrook look good. He has low IQ, and I can keep going. Go watch the full game and come back with a decent analysis.

All he needs is a euro where a brings the ball over his side and dunk with his off hand like Giannis, but he’s 19 years old without the muscle, but even taller and just as agile. First game, seemed a bit nervous but he’s the type of guy to work back the next game. He isn’t thinking like that about the game yet, but for a guy his size if he were to work on attacking the paint like Giannis he could be unstoppable.

the biggest takeaway from these twos game was they are not afraid. Miller shot 5-15 and Wemby went 2-13, which means they kept shooting regardless of a percentage cause they believe in themselves. If they shot 2-7 and 5-11 then it would be a problem because that means they gave up. they don’t think about a miss when they put up another shot and confidence is so vital in anything you do, that’s y Ben Simmons went from an All Star to a bench warmer 🤷🏽♂️

Wemby didn't had much hype here in Europe....but in the US they acted like Luka ain't that good and talking about Wemby to be the best prospect to ever play the game.....just pure insanity

people were definitely expecting the opposite to happen meaning they thought he was about to drop 20-30 but get cooked on the other end. I think him playing dominate on defense & struggling to score is a solid sign considering most people thought he would get bullied. Sure he got dunked on but he also impacted like 20 shots along w/ a couple of blocks & got boards. You literally want your 7ft to be able to do all that FIRST before anything else. The offense will come, a simple eye test will tell you that he has all the tools to succeed offensively, especially his passing.

It’s his first summer league game. But I love his defense unselfishness and playmaking. His shot will fall as the season continues. This guy is still the best prospect a bad shooting night in his first summer league game is not something to be held against him

It was a SUMMER LEAGUE GAME you cannot call him a bust from 1 game in the SUMMER LEAGUE. It was a bad shooting day but he was great defensively. I knew after this game casuals we’re gonna be saying he’s a bust. Just so you know LeBron got dunked on in his summer league debut and shot 36 percent from the field in the whole summer league season. So he didn’t do great either and he sure didn’t turn out to be a bust.

The kid is special if u watched. Yeah the shooting was off but summer league is basically street ball up and down. No sets or focus. I loved his passing instincts. Has a nice crossover and he plays defense from rim to 3 pt line. Had that one block from 25 ft out on brandon Miller. Once he's really in the spurs system, he'll be real good.

His defense looks solid. His only issue is trying to play on the perimeter too much. Need to get his tall behind in the post more. He has great passing and will force a double team. I’m sure Greg pop will get tired of him playing on the perimeter.

Expectations, Pop will develop him. In just that short video, you can see his passing ability, and athletism. His slight build will cause teams to beat on him. I do see more of a Gohbert type player.
