Being American Indian, the one lesson I was taught that was most important to my grandfather was this: it's not what you have, but what you give away. The story my grandmother told me about my grandfather goes like this. During the Great Depression, the local deer population had gotten out of control. So, the local game warden knew my grandfather was the best deer hunter in the area and asked him to cull the herd. My grandfather agreed on one condition; that the extra venison went to the hungry families in the area. The game warden went along with that readily. That's the kind of man my grandfather was and how my American Indian family taught me to be. It's also why I always say that my wife is my hero. She's a mental health counselor who treated children of trauma for the first years of her practice and now counsels at the Suicide Prevention Hotline. She's dedicated her life to helping people. That's heroic to me. We're both the type of people to help others and that's partly why we get along so well. Be safe, well, and happy.

I wonder how someone comes up with their core values? Mine are charity, integrity, and wisdom. Charity: nothing outlasts charity, and should be the foundation of all I do. Integrity: when I say I will do something, it has to happen, or at least give my all to keep my word. Wisdom: so I can discern how to best help others, and know when I should commit to something.

What's the relationship between core values and priorities? And how can you truly have one priority?
@chrisblanc663
@chrisblanc663 Жыл бұрын
@@user-pl9wu1xy3m priority is to put certain things above others, core value is a foundational belief. Values helps you select your priorities. Think of it like building a house. The core value is the concrete foundation by which everything else is supported. Priority is like deciding what the walls will be made of, wood, brick, etc. what kind of pipes you will put. And in what order the house will be constructed. (You know you need walls before a roof, and electrical wiring before walls.) Priorities can shift, like replacing old wiring, or taking a wall down. Putting hard wood instead of carpet. The foundation is much more difficult to change, although you can with effort. In the context of our discussion core values are why we do what we do. For instance, mine are charity, integrity, wisdom. So I prioritize helping others; find opportunities to serve in my community, and people individually. I keep my word; so I am selective about what I commit to so I am not overstretched, and of course I will not lie. As far as fashion, I seek to dress in a way that fosters trust in others, I purposefully utilize blues as an example. Third I seek to learn, so I take time every day to read from the best books, watch KZfaq videos that will build me up, and record my life experiences. I recently learned about the art of story telling, how a story needs to have a lesson learned, (an arch) for it to have impact, so I have been writing something that happened in my day that can be considered a story every day. That is a priority right now, but that could change as I adopt another priority that better fits my core value.

The bald thing accentuates your base physical attributs, meaning if you are tall and strong, you will look even stronger however if you are short and sickly you'll look even more insignificant.
@ianhayes-fry4408
@ianhayes-fry4408 Жыл бұрын
Looking "strong" or "sickly" isn't really height dependent - physical presence depends on your overall proportions and how you carry yourself. That said, the bald look does tend to work best if you have a strong neck, a good jaw-line, and ears that don't stick out like Dumbo!

I would say the number one rule here is to be COURAGEOUS. To do anything mentioned in this list, you have to be able to swallow your fear and pride and attempt to exude confidence in all aspects of your life. It takes courage to be confident in yourself. To take responsibility for your actions. It takes courage to say what needs to be said. So if you can be courageous enough to rock the floral or shave your head then you should know you can be courageous enough to admit to your mistakes or tell grandma why shes the guest of honor. It's knowing small steps of courage can lead to great things. If you can understand that its swallowing pride and fear and doing what needs to be done. That's courage. That's confidence. That's badass. That's a man.

The Commutative Law of Badassery: When you think like a badass, you will manifest as a badass. In other words, a badass mindset translates to a badass appearance. Like anything else in the style canon, badassing has to be a natural extension of the person; often, a badass attempt looks contrived or forced. I don't fancy myself a badass, but I magically transform when I don my cognac goat suede bomber. And in a world where social injustice prevails and hate is normalized, human kindness reigns as the best badassmanship of all.

Hey Antonio - I've been watching these for a few years now, and never commented, but this one is too good not to say thanks. Rules 6 - 1 are totally appropriate for advice on how to "look" good; in that, guys come to a video like this for advice on appearance, but ultimately what we're all shooting for is an outward appearance that matches the type of man we want to be on the inside. In my mind, working on your wardrobe and your world-view are one and the same. I would argue that every video on KZfaq that gives advice to men on how to dress, should start with - "define your values as a person, and show respect to those values through how you dress". So thanks - well done.

I've never really had a desire to own a real leather jacket, primarily because of the weight. The good news is there are many options these days that look masculine without feeling like a pachyderm. I have a Johnston and Murphy coat with a zip out bib, that resembles leather but is really a cotton/polyester blend. The color and fit are great. Kuhl also makes some great looking coats and jackets. You'll have very little competition here in the upper mid-west, (Minneapolis/St.Paul) because for the most part the other guys are all wearing "hoodies", (Two at the same time.) sweat pants, camouflage hats, and wrap around sunglasses. Everybody looks like everybody else around here. : ) Merry Christmas!

I live in a warm climate. I can't justify the cost, given how rarely I would be able to wear one. Also, I have trouble getting most clothes to fit, and a leather jacket isn't something that you can really alter. They're also not something that packs well (small) for travel. I fully agree that there are other options that work just as well. I currently prefer casual sports coats.

Being a "bad ass" is something you have / are. You can always spot the ones who are trying. I was raised by some of the most "bad ass" people you would ever meet. Thanks to them I dont consider myself a "bad ass" i just know myself and will not back down for what I believe. A few years back as a correctional officer in a maximum security jail. I stood 5'7" maybe 160lbs, in shape. I squared off with a guy 6' 280lbs solid. We had a very heated yet calm conversation which he then backed down and apologized afterwards. Other inmates and an other officer were expecting him to level me and id be lying if I didn't admit I thought I was as good as dead. But thanks to my solid background I knew how to present myself and prevailed. Yes there was a lot of luck involved, but I have seen that inmate level pretty much everyone else that got in his way. Especially for those who know you, if they see you 95 percent of the time calm, cool and collective. Then the 5 percent of the time when you become stern / aggressive, they will usually listen to you "faster / better". As well with the exception of telling the story I just have. I dont "talk myself up". That is definitely a sign of insecurities. Like I said I dont hold a candle to those who raised me, or to a few ive known as an adult. I am confident and know what I am capable of and will always move quietly forward to reach my goals. Oh a trick I accidentally learned about keeping people at bay while inside. Wear glasses that are slightly tinted / mirrored. I have a light sensitivity and wear lightly blue tinted glasses inside. Apparently not being able to see my eyes unnerves people and will help keep them at bay.

You nailed the florals in Fahrenheit edt Antonio. They're particularly prominent in the vintage formulations with the curved pillar cap. Not just violet leaf (which is more of a stem), but the honeysuckle, lavender, carnation (that can smell like clove) and chamomile. They gave the fragrance a playful maturity that we don't see anymore in the newer formulations. To me, it almost reminds me of the flesh of a ripe dark cherry near the pit. Combine that with the phenolic leather.....boss. 😎

To add: Morning workouts are most ideal when you are moving forward. Forward ambulation (from Huberman lab podcast) improves your mental well being and may well give you a foothold to combat depression or at least a downcast mindset. If at all possible, do combine this with early morning sunlight, and NOT from behind a window (blocks UV light). This maximizes your normal cortisol peak that everyone needs and improves your sleep, your testosterone and even the following day!

Manipulative narcissists stare at you without blinking. I think that most of these points are helpful, and a real man will laser focus into working on some of them, or even prioritize one of them. Being a real man means being the alpha male and not letting some narcissist stare at you without blinking and abusing you like a doormat.

I would really like a video on top 5 must owns for a successful director level 35-45 year old man who is continuing to climb the corporate ladder. Looking for fragrances that say… intelligence, driven, successful, not modest but not egotistical. Finer things. Independent. Nothing too over the top but still projects. Leaves people wondering what it is, nothing common. Price point $250-$500.

Lol its cool, I think what really makes those physical traits attractive is if the man can groom and maintain them. Hell some men have way better healthier hair then women do. Anyway just keep it clean honestly

When I was a kid I got slashed in face from corner of my left eye to left side of my mouth by a rival member of a street gang in Edinburgh. Still now I'm middle aged but the prominent scar I have has been a burden my whole life. But everyone who sees me thinks am a real badass .

So why are so many men, and alot of professional athlete types buttoning up the entire shirt all the way up to their throat? Somewhere along the lines guys started fully buttoning everything up to the top and for some it's an okay look but for most guys it's a bad look, it either cuts their neck off completely (short neck) or makes them look like a long giraffe neck, long neck.

Idk its looks nerdy to me but in recent years being nerdy is socially much more being accepted compared to before, everyone is into comics coding math science etc. Which are good things ofc! But I do think in some way may have influence.

Thank you for great content. I follow your advice. I just have two issues I wish for your response about. One is a personal preference. The second is a genuine concern. First: your style of communication I would call american… a lot of words in high speed. I am a swede… slow and cold as our country. For me you could slow down and use less words and still get your point across. This is not a complaint!! Just a personal preference. Second is a big concern. You start a topic and , suddenly, mid-sentence it becomes a presentation of a product… that means you created a topic out of a product you want to present. My concern is this: would you have the same opinion about the topic if you did not have to push a specific product? Should I still believe you? I want you to help me with the right style. Are you about that or something else? Again: thank you for great content!!

Hey Stefan - Thank you for the honest feedback. We appreciate it as it helps us improve our content. We do have products we promote on our videos but we just don't promote any brand - these brands have been tried and tested by me and my team and we make sure they're products we approved of.
