Thank you Bill, that was very educational. What we're talking about is time, right? Time to manufacture a watch that makes it high horology. All those little procedures done to a watch make it look pretty BUT they also make the movement more precise and that's what you are buying, is time (someone else's time). I love all things Swiss, machinery, watches, chocolate and the Swiss make a lot of sought after products because of the time they invest into making that product. And, crazy as this may sound, people feel good about buying a product that was designed and manufactured with a person/people having the final say on the end results, not an accountant. Look at the Bugatti Veyron, I believe they took a loss on those just to develop that car and now...$$$$$, high automotive art! Best wishes for the new channel.

Bill, I still don’t understand why manufacturers shy away from discussing the accuracy of their watches. I realize if that was the only point everyone would go quarts, digital or radio signal, but I consider the accuracy of a mechanical to be one indicator of the skill and craftsmanship that goes into it. I guess if manufacturers spoke about how inaccurate they are it might be seen as a negative. The most accurate mechanical I’ve heard of is your Habring at .7 sec. a day.

Just saw a guy cleaning his Rolex , it was only a month old , and really didn’t need it , but he did it , and said it was really hard to do , of course it was just soap and water , but he said he was going to lay it on it’s crown , and let it drip dry , I thought he was joking about laying it on it’s Crown ? He wasn’t, I don’t know much about watches, but I know the first thing you learn is never lay your watch on it’s crown !

Queen Elizabeth could not possibly have owned a Patek Philippe, the company was founded 236 years after Queen Elizabeth died. Also, there never has been a Princess Diana, Prince Charles wife was Diana, Princess of Wales, which is a huge difference. To be Princess Diana, she would have had to have been the daughter of a King or Queen. As she was a daughter-in-law of a Queen, she did not qualify to be Princess Diana and had to be Diana, Princess of Wales. Yes, I know, I deserve to get dislikes for being pedantic.
