I appreciate the longer, raw rants as much as the cleaned up and edited videos. keep it up! Also, I agree with the point about wearing the headset in front of the kids. While it definitely might look ridiculous, using the device to engage with the kids is harmless. Being distracted by it while with the kids is a whole different issue and as worthy of criticism as being distracted by social media with the kids.

Thank you for this review of the product. I will be getting the next version of the Apple Vision Pro. I think the V1 is to showcase a glimpse of spatial computing. However, currently, the headset lacks immersive experiences and applications to attract the general public. And the passthrough feature also needs improvement, especially in low-light environments.

I am running Xcode on my Mac to do visionOS dev and it’s super smooth for me too. I wonder if it has something to do with your networking?

Great video. I believe you about the emotional impact of spatial videos. Early in the reviews, many cynical, quick to mock reviewers were ready to call it a gimmick. They would tell you this is their OWN videos, not the video supplied by Apple. The look they had on their faces while watching was priceless! I swear a couple edited out their tears.

awesome video! if i were to change one thing about it though, adding a little bit of background music would make watching this a lot more enjoyable to watch. great video :)

@@VisionProExperience no it was the initial set up I failed twice. They weren’t set up for my prescription so it was going to be slightly blurry. I also have a stigmatism though so on the set up for the demo those rings of dots you have to look at and pinch 🤏 are all doubled for me. I was able to get them but each time after that it said set up failed.

I suspect your problem with DaVinci Resolve stuttering and lagging when mirroring your Mac is due to the fact that mirroring occurs over AirPlay. Based on my experience with AirPlay when I set my OG HomePods to be default audio for an Apple TV, AirPlay is a total bandwidth hog. Assuming the same is true for Mac mirroring over AirPlay, then the lagging you are seeing probably relates to traffic on your WiFi network. ☹️

Apple really phoned it in this time with regards to apps. All of their core iOS / iPadOS apps should have been fully ported at launch. The apps they were promising us at WWDC should have been there at launch. Particularly the professional apps. As you say, where’s Final Cut? Microsoft is making a better showing on Apple’s platform than Apple is.

Very weird about Final Cut! Either they are planning something huge or again dropping the ball on pro apps 🤷🏻‍♂️
