I’m starting grad school soon!! Did you take 2 classes per semester or were you a full-time student?

I’m part time and take about two classes per semester

I’m not sure how you were able to do all that! I am a NP and it was a DRAMATIC time demand. Even with part time job I still needed to get up at 5 am to study etc. Possibly like you mentioned- clinical hasn’t started.

Can you discuss the different career routes for neonatal nurse practitioners? Do you have to work in the hospital once you graduate as an NNP?

Yes. Unless you work as a flight transport NNP. Since neonates are usually in the acute care setting.

Have you hear about the change starting in 2025? Apparently nurse practitioners will be required to have a doctorate instead of a masters. Have you heard about this and will that affect you since you are already in a program?

I am so glad you brought this up, because I was just thinking about this!! NP's are gonna need doctorate degrees very soon so I wonder how that will affect the students in NP school now who are getting master's degrees to practice.

@@TheNurseNook Yes, I saw that when I researched more. I was just wondering (and hoping not) if it would come to fruition. Of course the NONPF and other organizations are making it seem like “this is it! It’s happening”. I’m glad to see you are not taking it too seriously though. 🤞🏽this is delayed a little longer.

@@Gabrielle727 it kinda has the same vibe as hospitals saying we’re getting new XYZ and it takes a million years for it to come but then one day you walk in and the new thing is there and you’re expected to function using it. I feel like that’s what’s gonna happen. It’s classic.
