1 Year Of Using The Fellow Stagg Kettle: Product Review

1 year ago I received the Fellow Stagg as a Christmas gift. I can't tell you how many hundreds of times I've used this kettle since then, but over this past year I have had lots of experience handling this product. Here are my thoughts on it.

Third Wave Water helps prevent the buildup of scale in your kettle. I've used only TWW since I bought mine and it's still super shiny and chrome like on the inside.

I love Third wave water! I’ve been using it for maybe six months or so, but I had no idea that it helped with scaling as well! All the more reason for me to keep using it. Thanks for the comment!

Man, every video about this kettle seems to have comments from customers saying theirs broke within a year. Not good…I wonder if the new Pro is more reliable.

Does it have warranty? Maybe you could get it replaced or try contacting the manufacturer for a new sensor?

At that price point having the temp issue is a red flag fir me. They should have replaced.

It is pretty expensive to have that be an issue, but what’s strange is that it’s not a consistent issue. Many mornings the kettle is on its best behavior. Haha. Thanks for the comment!

@@petersamuels-coffee6735 I've learned that our temp sensor works correctly (or not) depending on how I place the kettle on the base. Since I started pointing the gooseneck towards 12 o'clock, I've stopped getting temp sensor randomness. If I point the gooseneck towards 9 o'clock, I often get the same problem as yours.

In-between pours, does this kettle automatically warm the water back to the set temperature after you place it on the base? Or do you need to press an extra (start) button ?

Flow way too slow and not enough control-for me. Looks great but so much more enjoyable to use my bonivita. For me the Fellow is form over function.

Another overpriced and overestimated item. The low flow rate of this kettle makes almost impossible achieving a proper pour over.

A very interesting assessment! Because I went from such a cheap kettle to this one I thought it was a pretty remarkable change! But I don’t have much experience with other kettles either. What do you prefer? Thanks so much for the comment!

Pour over is supposed to be slow. Are you confusing pour over with immersion?
