nice test, i did notice though if you scratch too deep into the metal you could be cutting straight through the rust

Appreciate your time doing these videos. Yours and a few other youtubers are why i undercoated my vehicles with RP342. Good to know that it will provide great protection for my vehicle. Keep up the videos.

Very nice results! I want to report I’ve had good results with Cosmoline Black (Rust Veto 344) on my 2000 LX470 with the Fluid film kit. Even with lacquer thinner I wish I had a more powerful compressor to use the special 90deg and spreader nozzles. Been about 14 months and the entire underside still looks clean, shiny and there’s been at least 1 salt spray day here in Jersey this year. For the tailgate, inner fenders, engine bay I used PB Corrosion stop and it’s doing decently as well. The PB is more like a yearly app it looks like for best results 👍🏽

I am not familiar with any of this..when you say fluid film kit what do you mean??? You nees to use fluid film and theb cosmoline over top?

@@bengleckl1877 What I did was first apply the Cosmoline Rust Veto 344. The truck stayed on jackstands for a couple weeks after so I decided to hit the other fenders, nooks and crannies with the spray can Blaster Corrosion Stop. The black looks really nice even after 2 years.

Great video. There’s a rp342 amber and black. You used both, right? As you were showing the amber is holding up much better? I’m just deciding which rp to use. Thanks again. Well done!

I went nuts. Bought 342, Corroseal, CRC, Fluid film for the inside of the frame on a clean 2004 Tahoe (winter beater), and Farm equipment paint. Live in the rust belt. Gonna do some grinding with the drill (wire wheel). Interested in your opinion on Corroseal and CRC.

Good luck! I don't have any experience with Corroseal or CRC so I can't give an opinion. Looks similar to POR-15 which I've used. Goes on nice, it's easy, etc.

-- Glad you came back 2 years later to ask. I changed a couple things (not using the Farm Equipment paint & adding Rp-342) but it went extremely well. Every fall I spend a few hours touching thing up. First treatment when I bought the vehicle turned out to be about 700 dollars. Now it's about 80 per season. Had it to the tire shop, a few other shops where it's been lifted. No one can believe how solid it is underneath. And this is the first season is the first I've cleared space for it in the barn. Looking darn good so far. @@chebrets

WD40 is alot of fish oil in it. Cosmoline is great stuff

@lostfart you video has me sold on the cosmline I just bought crc6026 I’m in northeast Pa we are in the beginning of winter hopefully not to cold and the shit will still dry is it solvent based

Love this, really impressed with the way RP 342 holds up to the scratch test. Can you test the RP 342 against other Cosmoline products? Like CRC and Amsoil MP? They are cheaper than RP, and I'm curious if they will hold up against the scratch test like RP 342 does. In other videos where they do not perform a scratch test, the products appear comparable and the youtuber in question makes it look like one should just buy the CRC because its the cheapest of the Cosmoline products. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pb6cm9CT28qvcqM.html an example of a video where it appears the cosmoline products are all the same.

Project farm also did an undercoating comparison and the cosmoline based product did best there too. That was the CRC marine corrosion inhibitor.

Lol I wish rust was that easy to remove. I live in the rust belt and my truck is 20 years old.. trying to figure out the best way to remove all the rust and make sure it doesn’t come back then the best rust preventive
