WAY TO GO, SONTARD!!! You not eating sugar really encouraged me! I have severe food allergies, which means that I can't have a lot of sweets because of what they contain (dairy, nuts, etc.), so you not eating sugar really encouraged me that even though I miss out on a lot of foods, I'm really eating much healthier thanks to my food allergies. I just really wish my food allergies didn't have the potential of putting me in the hospital or killing me... Anyway, thanks Sontard, and keep being awesome! :)

this video is so nostalgic to watch for me. i watched the shaytards for so, so long, and i always remembered that this was my favorite video of theirs. it holds inspiration, joy, contentment, coming together as a family, and love all in only eighteen minutes, and it fills me with so much happiness. the scenic view of shay and colette dancing with the sunset and waves in the background is so beautiful and one of the most empowering and emotional moments. it’s so hard to explain, but this video meant and will forever mean so much to me. i’ll hold it near and dear to my heart to remember how beautiful love is, even with everything that has happened now. the shaytards have grown up, made mistakes, learned from them, and it’s sad to see them all grown up and i guess not the same as they used to be with what happened, but it makes me happy that they are coming together again as a family just as they did in this video. like shay said, life is about setting goals and achieving them, and i believe that their goal was to take what happened, and use it as a way to become stronger and have a better understanding of each other. thank you guys for teaching me about happiness, family, reaching goals, and most importantly, how strong love can be. 💓💓

I hate how I always leave "negative" feedback on your vids...but do know that I like them and that's why I'm always watching them. Regarding the sugar thing and sontard wanting to lose weight. I think it's awesome how he "gave it up" for a year. It is tough to give anything like that up at that age, seeing every other kid drinking soda, eating ice cream and candy or whatever. However, it's now been pointed out that the reason he did do it was in some way to try and lose weight. I don't want to try and convert you or try and convince you that what I'm about to say is right...but please do some proper, thorough research on the topic (a good start is nutritionfacts.org) and don't brush it off straight away. Sugar isn't what makes people fat. Sontard isn't "fat" but he is a little overweight, there is no denying that. There is nothing wrong with that either, but you must understand that what is making him carry that extra weight isn't sugar. 1 whole year of no sugar, at his age, should have helped him lose a tonne of weight (if sugar actually was the cause). I can't go into detail now on why sugar isn't the devil, but please just try and think outside the box and consider what else might be holding him back. People never like to hear this, and no one ever accepts it, but the thing that makes people fat, is fat. Before anyone comments saying fat is needed, or our brains are made out of fat or whatever other crap, don't. Fat is needed. It's just the standard american diet has way too much of it. You need to cut down on fat as much as possible to the point where the only fat you get is naturally occurring in whole foods. People look at a donut and say it is unhealthy because of the sugar. No it's the fat in it which is bad. Carbs do not make you fat. You should never restrict how many carbs you eat. Fat on the other hand should be kept to a minimum. Fries are fattening because of the *fat* they are cooked in, not the carbs in potatoes. A better bet would be to go a whole year without eating foods high in fat, and eating unlimited sugar/carbs. That would be interesting to see. Many people live on this kind of lifestyle and are thriving. Do some research on high carb, low fat diets, and also look into what raw vegans and fruitarians practice. They are all super skinny, healthy and super active with tonnes of energy eating hundreds of grams of sugar every day.
