I wouldn't say thats necessarily true. It's just the tournaments have gotten so much bigger its near impossible to final table now. Having 10 times (or more ) the number of entries means you will have to get lucky multiple times to even have a chance at the final table, you can't just play well also have to get very lucky

No Linit Holdem is still played by drawing player 2 cards and 5 community cards. NO CHANGE IN HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED. THE RULES ARE THE SAME. Does each player get 3 cards now? PLAYERS HAVE CHANGED NOT THE GAME. Think before you speak in this case write.

i wouldn't trade my last 10 years in poker with him and I sure as shit wouldn't trade my bank account with him. Give me the 10+ million he fucked off 15-20 years ago and I wouldn't be grinding super hard all summer while being miserable at his age the way he is. That's what he (and you) don't get. Poker is played for money. but when you fuck off the money instead of being smart with it the fact you won it doesn't matter. It's also 2024- the fact he crushed in 2005 doesn't matter. He still thinks he's a crusher who is running bad when he's a weak tight washed up nit. It's a cautionary tale Like he actually thinks it matters if he gets in the poker hof. Even if he gets in he's still gong to be grinding in his 50s, broke, staked, miserable etc. Plenty of people in poker have just printed money for a long time under the radar, invested it well and have it really easily financially today, the way he should. The ONLY thing that really matters from his crusher days it the few friends he made back then who he leeches off of finacially today.

@@michaelblankenau6598 Well it's a fact that the old stars, with rare exceptions, are not winning any more, Negreanu is down 200 K for this series alone, and obviously Mike is down, the game is hyper aggressive, and everyone reads books and vlogs, the way Brunson, Hansen, & even Ivey won in the old days, does not exist now, although Ivey recently won a bracelet

@@plamenspasov4943 Yup… everyone pretty much knows how to play so that there aren’t very many fish left . The game has been static for a long time . Aces is still the best starting hand and always will be . And even styles of play are limited to a large degree . Therefore there’s no way the game is changing at lightning speed . There just isn’t that much to the game in the first place.

Hansen had to take a day job, nine to five, because he can't compete any more, and he was the best tournament player, and big name players, like Negreanu, if he didn't take checks from GG and others, I doubt he'd be a winning player today

Some will win a few tournaments, get some name recognition, and fade away . It’s always been that way and will always remain like that . Along the way they’ll dupe the saps into thinking that poker is this great game of skill that’s constantly evolving . Those that know , know . Those that don’t either figure it out or remain ignorant.
