@@mystery8820 Koro in-universe lost his owner, a priest, due to an car accident. Shinji cares for him too, even when he sweats bullets upon being busted by Aegis. Like Hachiko, his inspiration, our Good Boi has been strong and loyal, even in the darkest of times. Of course, Ken takes care of him as well.

I wasn't originally sold on Saab's Akihiko but he really nailed this scene. I like his Akihiko quite a bit. Literally as I was here I was thinking that the way he said "Look what happened!" would make or break his performance and he crushed it.

Shoutout to the work of the mocap actor and the animators for Shinji's last moments. You can see how desperately and painfully he's trying to breath. Justice Slocum gives a really solid performance in the dub too to really bring it home. Also a small thing, but I love that extra motion of Fuuka kneeling down to take hold of Ken. It's a great subtle moment of characterization and it's nice to see them bring her and Koromaru a little more into the scene.

When they first announced 3R, I was very curious how they were going to do Akihiko's Second awakening. Doubly so with all the recasts, as Liam O'Brien absolutely nailed the voice and mannerisms of Aki in the original. The original scene was always so moving, only rivaled by a second awakening of a certain Ace Detective. After hearing this, I gotta say that Saab did a good job with his take on the character. In particular, I liked how more "soft-spoken" he was here, fit the moment and Akihiko's character. O'Brien's take on the character will always be the definitive Akihiko to me, but that doesn't mean Saab's take is bad. Far from it, so props to him. Perhaps "Officer Kurosawa" mentored him lol.

Hah the P4 arena references are crazy with junpei saying how he wants to get back into baseball at the end of the game. Also how Kurosawa (when they’re old enough) wants to go drinking with akihiko and makoto just Like in the scene with Kurosawa and akihiko at the end of episode P3 in arena. Also literally most of the theurgys are special attacks in P4 arena.

Ok but the scene where akihiko takes Shinjis hand and even the blood splatter by Ken. A lot of inspiration was took from the movie (including when makoto pulls junpei out the way in the priestess shadow cutscene) and it’s absolutely amazing. However the way his hand falls out of Akihiko’s did make me cry 😭💙❤️

@@MariusBoss11458 I meant Reunion - Cloud's VA put more effort into the scream in that version. Steve Burton was unable to yell, hence why they recorded Tidus' VA in vanilla Crisis Core

Can we give an oscar to both Ken & Shinji's New VAs? They both killed it in this scene? My one nitpick is that i wish that they had this scene happen during the fight instead of after it, like in the Movies. In there, the sense of desperation is even greater cause SEES are dealing with 2 Full-Moon Shadows & had to take them down ASAP so they could find Ken & Shinji in time, but they arrived too late. Even so, this was a great scene & that sudden F bomb from Shinji really caught me off guard, in a good way

I never realized this until now, after seeing it in reload, but Ken's story is the one that feels the most like the origin story for the main protagonist of an RPG. If he becomes a college roommate and a future persona installment I will go nuts (in a good way).

Works better because of context and who it was directed to, as well. Takaya was a slimeball for that, and breaking Ken's spirit earlier.

I'm definitely not feeling Yukari, Everyone else is fine but Shinjiro, Mitsuru, Junpei, and Fuuka so far are the best.

It's weird lol, P3 OG voice cast is very distinct, for better and for worse. I overall like the New Cast, even if I prefer Liam O'Brien and Michelle Ruff's takes on their respective characters.

My opinion now that I’ve seen more scenes: - Still mixed with Yukari’s - Been warming up to Akihiko and his performance here is pretty good (still prefer Liam’s though) - Ken’s alright though need to hear more - Liking Shinjiro’s more than expected (Still miss OG though) - I’m fine with Aigis though I miss her more robotic ness in her OG voice. - Mitsuru, Junpei, Fuuka are the ones I love the most

Ken wanted to kill him for revenge. Later he learns that Shinji was gonna die anyway so his revenge is meaningless, then Shinji dies saving him. That's alot of conflicting emotions. Ken is just a kid he doesn't know how to deal with all the pent up hatred regret etc. I'm not just talking about the revenge either, Shinji is the only person who can provide Ken closure. Whether it be through revenge or forgiveness, now Ken has nothing to do with his emotions. His purpose for living has been robbed from him, in more ways then one. Reducing it down to "bipolar" is a bit reductionist.

Imagine calling a elementary school kid who had mixed up emotions between anger, hate, regret, confusion, fear, stress, and sadness as "bipolar" because he cried and grieved for a man he wanted to kill. The same man who died in front of this kid, sacrificing his own life to protect him when he lost his sole purpose either way and (almost) gave up on living

Firstly no it was Takaya who got him killed, secondly he was already dying, even if takaya did nothing he probably wouldn’t live to see the end of the year, thirdly ken’s hamster is named Hamburger which I think that alone is enough proof that he’s cool
