There are more than 1300 worldwide. Sometimes however, theme parks can lose their funding, people just stop coming or other unforeseen circumstances occur. When this happens they are rarely torn down; they are left to rot. Then they become an entirely new attraction.

Yeah, it's called autumn at Oz. It's opened on September 9, 10 and 11. If you plan on going I suggest you wear an Oz related costume or outfit since almost everyone that attends it wears a costume from Oz

The one that is half underwater is the Jet Star roller coaster in Seaside Heights NJ. It fell into the Atlantic Ocean during Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and was demolished in May 2013

I went to Camelot in Lancashire UK a few times and loved it, was a great park with some good rides, shows and theming throughout the park !!! The Knightmere rollercoaster is still standing

The vast majority of views (and thus, revenue) for large channels happens within the first few days after a video is posted. I'm sure the reason they re-post so frequently is that they're trying to re-capitalize on something they've already produced.

No, the park has been sold and is getting demolished at THIS very moment. I've been there today and excavators are all in the center of the park, working their way out. You can still enter yes, but if you want to see some attractions left, go NOW.

ohohvalerie because that’s still open the ride broke from the bored walk from hurricane Sandy they rebuilt part of the boardwalk and the ride there

Pontchartrain Park in New Orleans, Louisiana was one of my great childhood memories! It closed in the mid 80s. The Zepher and Rajan Cajun were the two best roller coasters of it's time!!!

I visited The Miracle Strip Amusement Park Panama City Beach in 1989 on my High School Senior Trip. We had a lot of fun. I brought my daughter and her friends back to Panama City Beach for their senior trip in 2015 and was sad to see it gone.

I grew up about 5 miles from Chippewa Lake park. As a small child, a bunch of us would ride our bikes there and ride a few rides, get a snow cone, and then bike home. All for about two dollars. Those were great times.

camelot was awesome.... in a shit way. we tried to break in last week .... epic fail... which was pathetic because its easy ! it was amazing tho... friday morning... and in the 20 mins we were there 3 lots of people tried!! its constant!

I loved Camelot. Always one of my childhood memories being there, would love to be able to go and see it now, however not so keen on going late at night because that would freak me the hell out man. Still loved going there, went near enough every year when I was at primary school. Loved the shows. Will always be one of the favourites in my opinion but it was shitty as I got older.

I used to go to camelot every year after the football season as a team day out, I hated the rides but it was always a nice day out, plus it was barely an hour away so we didn't waste the day travelling

Most of my childhood summers were spent at Camelot obviously on The Nightmare and Whirlwind... can't belive it's been closed now for nearly 6 years. It was AMAZING as a kid.

My favorite parks as child was Highlands and Chain of Rocks parks in St. Louis, MO both are gone now but still have great memories of them.

Han Not Solo went to that park as a child,it was abondoned for many years and creepy as hell especially cuz the park had that oldschool look,but sadly it was demolished and rides were auctioned off.

I visited the Land of OZ many times it was really neat with a balloon ride that went out over a cliff. Really loved it with all the hidden attractions.

I went to both American Adventure and Camelot several times. Camelot was fantastic, wonderful mix of rides and other entertainment - the jousting contests were great! They also sold the most amazing fudge Ive ever tasted! Ir would sort of set at he edges and be delightfully gooey in the middle. Such a shame Camelot closed, it was a great family day out and grandparents and tinies would have as much fun as everyone else, unlike so many parks where the only focus is big rides with endless queues.

I live just around the corner from Camelot, it wasn’t a huge park but it was fun. I never understood why they change “the beast” to “venom”, pretty much taking horror roller coaster and changing it to one with a giant snake head paints on the exit, they added a few live snakes behind glass at the start but the beast scared me as an 8 year old lol. Tower of terror was their most popular ride but it never had a “Disney” queue, then they finally bought another called Excalibur which was a pirate ship that went upside down but that was the only thing I remember them buying new... it had a log flume, a caterpillar ride and they did regular jousting and crowd interaction but, the last time I went, I remember being bored and me and my mate waiting until my dad came to pick us up, it really went down hill.

I went to Camelot all the time when I was a kid! It was literally a few miles away, hell I still live near it! It breaks my heart to see it in such disrepair, but there are hopes it will reopen one day

I visited Miracle Strip Amusement Park many times as a child. There was also another theme park on Panama City Beach at the time: Petticoat Junction. Petticoat Junction shut down sometime in the 1980's, though.

So when I was in 4th grade so a little over 4 years ago I was absolutely obsessed with abandoned theme parks and Chippewa lake park was one of my favorites so this video brings memories of my "loner phase"

Martin Kennard american adventure definitely isn't, it's not that far from my house and it's just bare land now. you can see videos of people exploring these parks, meaning that they aren't or definitely weren't scrapped

camelot is still standing. i live near to it, and people fly drones in there all the time. they also do paintballing and laser tag (unofficially organised). you aren't supposed to go in, though.
