I am so glad that the French put the caves off limits to tourists, because otherwise, the paintings would no longer exist. Tourists can really screw up everything.

Maya Bay is now reopened, but no boat access or swimming allowed at the beach. You'd need to get to Loh Sama Bay to get on the pier and cross the island to Maya Beach where you can walk around, take pictures and enjoy the scenery only. You can't get in the water more than knee deep or the park ranger will warn you or take further action if you do not comply.

I'm glad they included Snake Island. I had heard about the high concentration of snakes on the island and thought it wasn't possible to have such a high concentration. To have that many snakes they would have a food source to survive. Enter the the birds they mention. I've read where this island is in a flight pattern of some sort that causes the birds to rest on the island. Maybe it's far from other islands. Either way, the snakes have plenty to eat from the birds who rest there.

I'd heard of some of these but by no means all, so thank you. It's good to know that governments are thinking of the future - or, in the case of Lascaux, the past - and taking steps to preserve things for future generations. Increasing tourism is a blessing until it becomes a curse, people destroying the very thing that people go there to see. There's a vid about places that have been ruined by tourists. Mr Ballen did a video on Snake Island - several people have died from snakebite, including a lighthouse keeper and his family. But apparently people still go there, trying to capture the snakes to sell - a lot of them never come back. I don't know who'd want to own so deadly a snake, but apparently there's a market; let's just hope that they keep the snakes very securely enclosed; heaven forbid that any escaped into a new environment and start breeding. He also did one on North Sentinel Island, and what happened to that missionary

There's a reason that the cave is off limits it's because for a long time people could come and visit it and the more people that came in the more damage it was to the paintings just from sheer breath and body not kidding you in fact that's the way it is for a lot of ancient places that are caverns they don't allow people anymore into a lot of these places because of the damage that human beings do just by breathing.

The two highest mountains are not on the Australian mainland; they are both in territories. The highest mountain is not however Mawson Peak. Dome A in the Australian Antarctic Territory is the tallest Australian mountain at 4,093m, compared to Mawson Peak on Heard Island which is only 2,745m. On the mainland the tallest is Mount Kosciuszko in New South Wales which is 2,228m. Fact checking is not really up to scratch on this video as interesting as it was.

That's the clashing rocks in jason and the Argonauts that boat is so so lucky to get through cos there's no fishy bloke with a crown that stops the canyon from sinking you without trace cos that's a myth

Lascaux cave in France is linked to cro-magnon man and that goes back up to 30,000 years! Not 17,000. A painting show a perfect representation of the Pleiades solar system and Orion solar system, the right number of planets and their placement, just perfect. This shows that they were not primitive at all. Around the world legends do tell about Pleiades and Orion, so how could they know? But between both solar systems you had the bull sign that is made when linking star to star, not any star of course. All is perfect is place like you would see it in the sky. So much is not understood yet.

Went to Thailand to see Maya Bay. They had just shut it down. We were able to moor outside of the bay where I was stung by a huge jellyfish and scared by a baby shark, because I am a wuss. I understand why they shut it down. But still, bummer. A monkey sat on my shoes, pooped in one of them, then proceeded to eat his poop from my shoe? Thailand!

The youtubers of "Yes Theory" did actually make a video going to Poveglia. It's not banned, there's just a stigma around it, and people believe its haunted

Going to Poveglia is strictly banned but it seems like this doesn't prevent r*tard tuorists to go there. All the buildings are collapsing and the island itself is disappearing due to erosion and water-level rising so we are trying to save the island since it's a big part of Venice culture. That said I really hope one day a couple of them get buried there as warning for the others.

The snake at 14:29 is totally unrelated to what you may find on Snake Island. Its a European snake (Natrix Natrix) that also happens to be totally harmless.

I'm surprised Whakaari/White Island, North Island New Zealand is not on the list: A cone volcano that's been around the last 150,000 years. New Zealand's most active volcano erupts frequently with steam 200° Celsius (nearly 400° Fahrenheit). It erupted the 9th of December 2019 when 48 tourists and tour guides were there; some of whom were at the crater edge when the eruption occurred. Most were injured but 22 people died including 2 whose bodies were never found. The volcano island has been closed to everyone since then except for the authorities who brielfy returned for the bodies that didn't die in hospital.
