I notice all these bands come out of the VHS tape days and before. For a more modern take on an awesome Italian Prog Rock band.. "Julie's Haircut".. is 30 years young this year. Among their extensive catalogue the album "Ashram Equinox" deserves considerable mention. The 2014 peformance of that album in Parma can be found on KZfaq.. an audio and visual feast. Well worth the 50 minutes viewing.

Matia Bazar in the second part of 80th had several nice progressive albums comparable to the sound of Rush or Yes of the same period.
