The family language is called Semitic. Arabic and Hebrew do not come from Aramaic, in fact all three languages come from the Proto-Semitic language.

Asli - we really use it for food, maybe the origin of a person (he's a Yemenite asli), but we'd never use it for Adidas and industrial products 2. Mabsut, the feminine form would mostly be the Hebrew feminine, mabsutit 3. Dugri - is used for blunt, straight-forward talking, tell it to me dugri, exactly what you think Two other super-used Arabic words in Hebrew are: Majnun (crazy) and Hebrew variations "janana" etc. Mastul (being high) and many conjugations: sutul, satla, satlan...

Hey Maha 👋 I'm a yemeni jew and we use Dughri a lot. Even though we have both /Gh/ and /R/ sounds in yemeni hebrew, the actual reason we pronounce it /Dugri/ instead of /Dughri/ Is not because it's hard to pronounce but for another reason. The /Gh/ sound exists in traditional hebrew and is written with the letter ג (Gimal.ج/Ghimal.غ). If the ג has no dot inside its pronounced as /gh/ and if there is a dot inside its pronounced as /G/ (or /J/). But when we speak on the daily we don't speak yemeni hebrew but modern hebrew, in which the letter ג always makes the /G/ sound. So the way we write Dughri would still be "דוגרי" but in modern hebrew the only way to read this would be /Dugri/ and that's how it came to eventually sound like even among Mizrahi jews who indeed have the /gh/ pronunciation. Thanks for this great video!

My family came from Yemen and i read at the Torah in my Yemenite Jewish synagogue. I use the h (האות ח) and I use (ע). Honestly, it's the correct way to speak Hebrew.

I dont know what you feel about your identity and what you think about politic, but I think it is really interesting that you have made as an arab Israeli/palestinian videos to learn arab AND hebrew. We don't need to know what you think about your identity or anything political, but I would be happy to hear you about those two seeming like languages. What do you think about that? As a native arabic speaker, is that easy to learn hebrew and vice versa? In a sense, I think it is political in a good way to talk about what bring us together than that wich separate us... As an Israeli your Hebrew is accurate

sabab is taken from Arabic Andalusie which meant back then great. Also, Sahteen is used as Maghribain dialect where they use it to say congrats. Both Hebrew and Arabic are semitic languages. The Aramaic is a sister language not the mother language of them.

These words are truly very commonly used in Israel. Great video!

In Spanish language when someone sneezes, we also say "health" (salud) just like you do with صحة

One funny thing to add: in Hebrew, many of the swear words we use are taken from Arabic (maybe they sound juicier in Arabic). I will however not mention them here 😂 Concerning the modified prononciation of the R ( ר ) and Het letters ( ח ) in modern Hebrew: it's not because people want to look cool. It's because the Jews who built modern Hebrew at the end of the 19th century came from Europe, often speaking Yiddish, and simply could not pronounce those letters correctly. So we are now stuck with a prononciation that is not correct. Too bad. Personally, I am for pronouncing Hebrew with correct Het ( ח ), Ayn ( ע ) and Resh ( ר )

My family are jews from Iraq and we all live in Israel for two generations, my mom and all her siblings speak fluent Arabic. Thought judeo Iraqi Arabic has some words not commonly used among levanite arabs, like abdalouk or ashlonek

Not to forget that originally Hebrew was the language of the Canaanites(the Palestinians ancestors) , and most of its words are derived from arabic .all the names of the places in (Israel) I mean Palestine now are our historical names. Keep in mind please.

LOL We also use 'sahbak' which means 'friend', especially when friendly relations take place in situations where formal relations are expected :) I recently learned that in Palestinian Arabic صاحبك just means 'your friend'.

more words from Arabic that are used sometimes by Israeli Jews are (be it may be some a bit differently than intended): shukraan kaif halak mabruk 'ahlaan la for a sarcastic no. and sometimes Inshallah when you want to wish good luck. (maybe that's just me)
