I think we can add the entire ECW brand as a whole to this since they absolutely fucked that beyond belief

To be fair WCW didn’t really know how to push Raven either. His mic skills and wrestling ability should have had him as an upper midcarder but instead he was squashed by Goldberg, lost his stable, and floundered until finally getting his release. And Taz had several recurring injuries that kept him from staying on the active roster.

Seriously, people vastly overrate the whole situation about Goldberg's first WWE run. He still got to look pretty dominant whilst remaining enough of a sympathetic figure. In my opinion, WWE did the right thing by making him lose to HHH first, then beating him the second time, which made his triumph even bigger in hindsight. The only reason people complain about that run is that he didn't squash HHH in 2 minutes with the Spear and Jackhammer. Trust me, if WWE went that route, he would have been booed massively, even to Roman Reigns levels. Don't believe me? Have a good look at his second run one more time. Supposedly the run where he was treated exactly how the fans wanted but instead it backfired. People started to jeer him after he won the Universal title to the point when Brock would suplex him, fans would jump out of their seats and count along, all the while booing Goldberg when he got his offence in at Wrestlemania 33.

Bray Wyatt is awesome. It is the way WWE books him that is garbage.

Tlyer Breeze is amazing and under used

KANE jump Tombstone-ing VADER is damn impressive/awesome/amazing/incredible. Yes that was necessary

To be fair to Tazz, as much as I really liked his gimmick as being virtually unstoppable man (and my personal favorite ECW guy), one could say that he had a lot of injuries that put his health into question, hence the transition to commentator, and a damn good one at that

If Mike Kanellis/Bennett had been able to use his IMPACT gimmick, he’d be in a better place than he is now .

Alex Riley's Varsity Villain persona comes to mind. Dude was epic on the mic. Great heel.

Did you honestly use the words Charisma in high supply to describe Lex Lurger. The man never had much of any charisma. You can say WWE never used him right. But how much better did he fair when he went back to WCW. The most charisma he had was his ability to make his promo's entertaining threw the fact he would stumble and bumble his way threw them espiecally his famous Super Brawl promo.

I'll point out that Vader did make a bit of a comeback after losing on PPV to Shawn and later Sid. A win over Undertaker at Royal Rumble '97 and then the awesome Final Four match in Feb.. I wish that match had given Vader more momentum given how he fought on with such a bloodied faced. This was actually just before the Bret-Austin match where Austin's bloodied face helped get him over. It occurred to me that the Final Four match was almost a "Mount Rushmore of Wrestling" match or at least many would pick Bret, Steve and 'Taker. But I thought Vader looked equally great in that match.

Undertaker, Kane, Repo Man and Doink are my favorite gimmicks.

I’m going to come out and say it. Legend killer Randy Orton. The fact that he got over was on him alone. It really seemed like WWE tried to kill his push at ever chance they got, from letting triple h take the championship from him immediately, to not having him end the streak (though apparently that was on him), go to not having him win his first wwe championship on his own, and all the way to having Hulk Hogan refuse to lose to him. Its an absolute miracle the legend killer gimmick wasnt killed.

Paul Burchills “pirate gimmick” (or just Paul Burchill in general), The Hurricane/Gregory Helms, Ron Simmons in the nation, practically anybody from WCW and ECW because WWE is petty, Dolph Ziggler, Mr Perfect, R Truth (screw you whatculture), Jerry Lawler (WWE should’ve done more with him in my opinion, plus Jerry Lawler as a heel= gold), Vader, Jake Roberts, RVD (I’m keeping him separate from the WCW/ECW crowd because he could’ve been a star in 2001/02 when he was feuding with the likes of Austin and Rock... until he got fed to HHH), Goldust, The Ascension, 90% Of The NXT talent, Davey Boy Smith, Harry Smith, Joe Hennig (Curtis Axel) just to name a few

Psycho Sid should be on this list. In WCW as Sid Vicious “The Man Who Rules The World” he played an excellent heel that was as ruthless as his name implied. He came to WWF as Sid Justice in a babyface role before a heel turn, and not a very good one. His character was not a psychopath, but more of a comic relief in horrible matches.

Maybe a few years for now Bayley sitting in the corner of a ring comparing her career to Sasha, Becky, Charlotte and others. 'What about me. What about Bayley'

I kinda fell out of wrestling a couple years back. At that time Broken Matt Hardy was creating the biggest buzz in wrestling and a Broken Matt - Bray Wyatt feud was a common dream feud that was talked about. Fast forward about two years later I decided to watch the Raw 25th anniversary show with my nephew, and I see Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt in a little five minute throwaway match in front of a silent crowd that looked like they couldn't give any less of a shit about the two guys in the ring. Just goes to show how out of touch WWE is, and has been for years now

Gail made her WWE debut in women battle royal match and left WWE in women battle royal match. I hope or want her to return back in WWE I love Gail Kim and miss her.

Stings concern for joining WWE was well founded.

I remember watching Kevin Nash tripping and yelling about his leg in a match, the week before McMahon disbanded the nwo in that monologue. You knew they were done, it was weird; also Scott Hall's sole of his boot ripped apart in another match at the time, it was mega distracting.

At least Hardys and Wyatt's feud paid off in the Ultimate Deletion and they are arguably the best Tag Team around on RAW now. Given a proper feud there is greatness yet to come.

You could honestly fill this list with just the NXT callups of the past few years.

Vader was 1 of my dads favs...along with flair...arn anderson...tully blanchard...pretty much every horseman...from the nwa days...he was a fan of heels...i can remember how dominate vader was in early 90s wcw...he is why dad kept watching when flair went to wwf(we didnt get the channel wwf was on...only nwa/wcw)...i would cheer for sting and would root for vader and if memory serves...vader came out on top more than sting in that huge fued...and it worked...my dad was happy i wasnt but was ready to see sting get his payback...wwe shoulda at least gave vader a chance with the title...they shoulda saw what wcw...new japan and a bunch of other major promotions at the time saw

Lex Luger worked for the WBF because Vince couldn't legally hire him to the WWF thanks to his non-compete clause. But since the WBF wasn't a wrestling federation, the way was clear. So he sat around for almost a year touting ICO-PRO before actually getting to do anything in the ring.

WWE has a long history of burying and destroying the careers of wrestlers that aren't viewed as being WWE native. The WCW stars, the ECW stars, TNA guys, wrestlers coming from Mexico etc. Although there are indeed a small number of exceptions, for the most part going to the WWE if you made your name elsewhere has been the kiss of death one too many times.

You're not even gonna mention that they salvaged "Woken" Matt Hardy when they got the rights to the Broken Universe? Or that through Matt, Bray Wyatt's gimmick was all but revitalized? C'mon, at least mention THAT in your intro. Or are you just going to focus on the negatives?

In fairness, I think some things just work better when they can play to a niche audience and don't really work on the big stage where they have to have broader appeal. Same reason not every band is an arena act and every movie isn't a blockbuster.

Wwe can’t handle any gimmicks from NXT because they don’t have creative minds writing for wwe anymore. Literally all NXT call ups are either buried or loose all the momentum they had in NXT. If I was in NXT I would never want to be called up to main roster because I would feel my career would be in jeopardy

If this video were actually talking about gimmicks instead of just people that WWE has misused, you should have had Sean O'Haire's devil's advocate gimmick on the list. Those vignettes leading up to his reintroduction were SO compelling, then he just... did nothing.

I'm pretty sure a number of these weren't actually wwe not knowing what to do with them, but rather burying high rated talent from their biggest competitors to basically say "he may have been a big deal over there, but compared to our guys he's just a small fish."

Gail Kim's contract didn't run out , she asked for her release and literally walked out of a battle royal match she got so fed up. It was joked about for months after it since she literally eliminated herself and walked to the back lol.

I may be the only one that liked Goldberg's first wwe run. The whole squash match thing got old in wcw and wouldn't have lasted long in wwe. On that note, him getting cheated at elimination chamber was the right move. It built heat and made it all the better when he beat Triple H 1-on-1
