Jackson has some of the best hull designs that balance stability and performance. They just need to increase their value. They need to add some features and improve their steering design for FD.

Jacksons issues are fixable. The longer they wait though the harder, and more issues, it will be to fix.

as we get into more and more powered kayaks people should consider the MILHA LITE SKIFF. its a 13' light poly pro skiff at a 3400 price that has the ability to get into and out of spots kayaks can get into. its much more stable than a kayak and can carry 2 people. never going to peddle or paddle the thing though. worst kayak i ever bought was a 14' malibu stealth. it had a fun concept of having a bait well built into kayak in front of the seat. it was wonderful what putting 2 gallons of water inside your yak did for tracking. the thing was horrible to paddle if you used it. i really think the kayak i enjoyed a lot many moons ago was the heritage redfish. great tracking boat on the flats, great design for paddling. very simple and cheap. native bought the design from heritage and you can see find them around.

I've done several of them. Definitely check out some of the older videos with Perception and Wilderness Systems. Did several videos on recreational kayaks and crossover kayaks

I feel like kayaks are disappearing and plastic motorized boats are all that are being released. That isnt bad. But, someone needs to make smaller paddle kayaks with good quality and bells and whistles. I have two paddle fishing kayaks and a trailer. That took the most I could afford. I cant afford an electric motor. And to be honest most of the time all I want is a small container of lures and a couple rods.

@@keithknaggs6023 paddle kayaks are out there and continue to be released. ICAST is a fishing expo so it's always going to be fishing platforms released

Some of us have no real choice but to buy online or drive 8 hours or more to get one, if I want a place to demo one that's over 10 hours. Sometimes bigbox (sportsman's warehouse) stores will have Old Town kayaks but you won't get service from them. 8 hours is not something anyone wants to do, walking away without purchasing after that drive is most likely not going to happen, you feel trapped into buying. Then are you going to drive that far for service? No. Online shopping and shipping is vital to have or a lot of the country would have no real good other option

Unfortunately today America made equals more expensive. It does not guarantee better quality. Cars, kayaks, bicycles, watches, guitars. The list goes on. You can easily find a lower cost higher quality option made out side of the USA. We are in a global economy. I love to support American companies. But every day it get harder to do.

American made in kayaks does mean something actually. The reason I say that is that the process is domestic which means the company has more control over the quality instead of just receiving parts from overseas. Not all companies go all in on quality (ex Ascend) Jackson Kayak, Bonafide, Native, Old Town, etc measure the thickness of the hulls in different spots, have an extensive process for testing batches to prevent quality issues, and a warranty support that replaces any manufacturing defects. Overseas company's use a cookie cutter approach and different density resins to keep costs way down. I'm not saying there isn't a place, or a use, for these kayaks, but it can get you in trouble in regards to safety using them in situations where they aren't intended to perform. And it's hard to get replacement parts for them.

Wow, I’ve enjoyed some of your videos in the past. But this was absolutely unbearable. 4 minutes in and listening to you talk about your stats and competitions that nobody cares regarding the topic of the video.
