I found Queen to C7 on game #8. I know it’s not a big deal, but I’m a beginner and this is the first time I found the move on a question like this. It feels really good, and makes me motivated to play and study more. Thanks for everything you do Gotham!

@@Amoeby His pronunciation is so funny! It's literally like second-wave emigrants intonations, like maybe my Soviet great-grandma spoke like that, but I don't really know. Probably Levy's grandma is the reason he speaks Russian, so it's logical, but still funny and sweet. But actually "Tolya" probably spoke exactly like that, too!

I love the 1st one - Pearl of Poznan ... I remember reading that there is still a lot of controversy over whether this was a real or staged practice game and whether "Ortueta v Sanz" which came two years later was the 'real' game. Shirov as number 1 is fully deserved though (recommend John Emms' book "The Most Amazing Chess Moves of all Time" for anyone who just loves to see stunning moves. Great channel content .. keep up the great work !

Great video and great selection of moves. Bxh3 is my favorite, an amazing move in a World Championship, can't get better than that. The move is so amazing that the computer takes time to recognize that Shirov's move lead to a forced mate.

Much Thanks for yet another inspiring video. Would love if you could make videos which are a combination of your rapid games rating climb series and an analysis of Mikhail Tal games. A pre-requisite for such a video would be games of Tal that you don't know by heart. What I specifically mean is the following: Make a live video where you go through a game of Tal. Before each of his moves, you analyse the position and state your best move that you would yourself make. Then you play the move he made (surprising yourself) and comment on his move. I learned the most from your live games; learning the thought process and etcetera. These days, I found that going through Tal games trying to spot his moves before surprising myself completely changed my habit thinking. I had a rating climb over the past 2 years from 1600 to 2000.

31:55 i literally thought about this game when i read the title. Nice. But i was also thinking about the game Kasparov vs Topalov in 1999 , where Kasparov calculated an insane 6~ move winning sequence where he had to be creative as fuck to even come up with this idea and then play/calculate everything as sharp as an engine to make it work. But i guess there wasnt really ''one'' great move wich was outstanding but rather the whole thing itself.

Qg3 is the best move I've ever seen. Followed by Qg7. Not taking a piece, but just plonking it in front of other pieces, is always the hardest move to find.

These were actually really good moves but for me the insane calculations of garry kasparov are still the best thing that has happened in a chess board.

I always think of Tal v Botvinik game 6 of the 1960 World Championship, Tal's Nf4!? I know the move was unsound, and that it would never be played again, but it's that same temporality that makes it so amazing.

4:50 I'm so shocked I actually got g3 correct. I only saw the first half that if the pawn was ignored you can easily promote to queen and checkmate. I only assumed there was some way to close the game out if they took the pawn.

Excellent stuff.But I miss my no. 1 shocking move of all tiime-Karpov`s 47.Ng2!! played in famous endgame against Kasparov in 1984.There was also shocking Fisher`s fork 11...Na4!! played against Donald Byrne in the game of the century in 1956.Fantastic channel.I am looking forward to see next parts of best or surprising moves.Good luck!
