I bought Seiko kinetic SKA785P1. Apsolutely delighted! Amazon full price 279 Eur but Considering the fact that I live in Heligoland (tax free zone in Germany) and I'm a prime member on Amazon, I got it for 192 euros! Beautiful watch 😊

The Seiko 5's have gone from 37 mm sizes to 40 mm sizes. I've always found my 37 mm Seiko 5 to be a bit chunky for me though it's small by today's standards, this trend towards larger watches has me considering wearing women's watches if I want something without scratches.

I have small wrist so I know the struggle. You love a lot of models but… their too large for your wrist that you know won’t look good once you wear them. Makes online shopping really difficult.

@@user-tx4wj7qk4t Keep in mind that when Rolex first introduced the 37mm sizes, they were considered huge, chunky and manly. Now you have to go to Women's watches to find 36mm sizes. Like cell phones (the candy bar and lipstick cell phones), watches used to be small just to show how advanced they were, now we're using tablets as phones and wall clocks as watches...

I don't like the glass watch back instead of the old stainless steel back. Also the various diamonds or rather zirconium or glass crystal watch number points are a little silly.

It's the entry to mechanical automatic watches, Seiko 5's that have the day date function (both day of the week and date of the month), once you go to the more expensive Seikos, you only have the date function (date of the month) as surely the rich don't care if it's a work day. I do wish they would have the more prestigious watches with the day of the week function too but I guess if it's features that you want, there's always smart watches.

I feel that Seikos can often be worn for both which for mechanical automatic watches, you actually want to wear them as often as possible just to keep them wound, an quartz watch might be something you only wear occasionally.

I tried the Presage yesterday, but I not a big fan of that metal clamp attached to the leather strap. It was a deal breaker for me.

There are more than one Presage models you know, and most don't have leather straps plus straps can easily be changed. I remember putting a leather NATO watch band (where the leather goes all the way around your wrist and the watch just straps to it) onto an Eddie Bauer watch to give as a gift and it turned a meh product into something special. For the most part, Seikos including the Presage usually have metal bracelets, leather straps are rare with Seikos hence the metal latch as branding on the leather strap.

The problem with having multiple colours of Seiko 5's for the week is that Seiko 5's are automatics that should be worn everyday to wind them. You should have watch winders if you want so many Seiko 5's to wear through the week.

Great watches. BUT...at that size I'll duct tape the one I have on the wall to my wrist!! 38mm yesy. even 40. But 42.5 no thanks. "Here I am with my watch!" Ha! SKX 013 38 if you can find it.

Seiko’s solar watches aren’t good, I bought three & none worked satisfactorily, though I have no problems in kinetic & quartz watches of Seiko

Nothing in the seiko lineup appeals to me at all. I am wanting a watch with a case width of no more than 38.5 mm, no date, attractive post indeces, well made bracelet and textured dial. There are plenty of GS that fit that description, but I'm not paying 5-6K or more for a watch.

@@toddgaak422, so far nothing as far as I know in the sub three thousand range. GS has a manual wind that would be nice, but I don't like the dial and there's no other dial choices.

Iv tryd watching this lady but it's killing me because to me she has now idea about sieko watches because she doesn't say the thing about there automatic movement they are old hat and dear for there princess and the 6r movement is may be OK but still a throw away movement when needs a repair and as for 7s and the hr35 36 and 38 are old and cheap throwaway watches and the stainless steel straps are cheap and nasty pin and collar is a joke needs replacing with screw pins that's my opinion and if you disagree they say why underneath and like the man Who said Grand Sieko are to dear is right you can get Omega or Tudor or Oris for the same price or cheaper and a lot better value for your Pound or Hamilton better watch than sieko

Tudor is replacing the movements; go on and check if don't believe me. Omega and oris...Omega vanished as a company in the 80's; now it belongs to swatch. They're so called omega in house movements are eta movements produced by swatch. Oris movements are nothing but standard eta movements. Seiko are truly in house movements ; cases ; hands ; dials etc Also seiko is the same company since 1881.
