AHHHH thank you so so much! So glad you enjoyed. Whitby and Robin Hoods bay are some of my favourite parts of Yorkshire - definitely gems of the coast! Hopefully once things are back to normal, we can head back to these beautiful places

Please do go to Whitby and stay if you can. If you are not enchanted then I have to answer to you! Trenchers was worth every penny and the mermaid well worth the wait. Tip. Get hungry and hold on until about 2.30 to 3.00 to visit them and you miss the wait. The tiny shops are such a change from the usual city fare. Locals and visitors alike are so friendly. I could go on but won't bore you! Best wishes Martin.

Whitby is one of my favorite places too, even though I only live less than an hours drive from it, I haven't visited the place in a years, so at some point in the not too distant future I'll have to fix that and get out on that moor road to Whitby. Good video BTW

We where in this district from 17/5/2021 for 4 days it was beautiful we love this part of Yorkshire on a good day non stop 4 and a half hours from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

A great travel guide to this fascinating town, which you clearly know and love! Those steps to the Abbey can be a test for aging limbs, but well worth it when you get to the top! Those fish and chips could rival the famous Magpie! Going to a place not far from there soon, so will definitely take a trip and try to follow in your footsteps! x

Steve. The vertigo hurt me the most! But dead accross from the last step is a pub and I fell in there for a medicinal drop ( just to ease my soul of course) !

@@stevenorwin5581 I recommend it, but I looked a bit shady ordering booze with a slight trembling in my hands if you get my drift! The ordeal you understand. P.S we didn't notice a chippy at the top, but we knew there was a cafe and a brewery. By the way like idiots we went down the cobbled way because the steps were too busy. No rails nothing. How shod horses got up and down that drawing a hearse back in the day, I'll never know. Have a great time on your return Steven. Kind regards Martin.

I'm a Yorkshireman! (Jórvík Vestr þriðjungr) Ek bjó fyrst á þorir. Did you know that Yorkshire dialect was heavily influenced by old East Norse, for example "Ey Up" in Sweden is "Sey upp" and it actually means "look up" in both Sweden and in Yorkshire Dialect (Though most on Yorkshire think it means "Hello")

One of my favourite places, whitby. Robin hood bay, runswick bay ! And staithes are all with 30 mins or so too so great area for a weekend / week break if accomodation is not all taken this summer post covid

Hi Paul! Oh one of mine too - this was filmed last year but I can only imagine what it’ll be like this summer - seems like absolutely everyone is on a staycation this year! Still, each of those coastal gems are glorious! I haven’t done runswick bay yet- is that where you can see seals? Amazing!

Never been to Whitby, but it's on my bucket list. It always looks good. I believe Bram Stoker was born here in Dublin, maybe I'm wrong, memory plays tricks on me and I'm to lazy to Google, take care.

If you go back to Trenchers, the halibut is amazing. The Magpie Cafe is worth every second of the queue. Had a couple of days away last week and Whitby has a magic all of it's own. Next time fill your eyes for yourself and not for an audience. That said, well done to you both.

@@BellaDiary Tip. Have a snack or a cake to keep you going and visit the Magpie about 3 ish and you are pretty much a walk in. By the way, two big cod and chips ( the medium size is big enough for anybody) large mushy peas, a craft gin and tonic and a glass of wine for under £ 40 . Cracking value. The waitress was adorable so she deserved the price of a drink too. I despise hype and had heard a lot about it. But on all fronts this delivers. P.S. plenty of shellfish and classical fish dishes if something too heavy doesn't grab you.
