I am a 43 year veteran long haul driver who retired from Greyhound after driving about 4 million miles. I am intrigued by these European buses, however I would caution people about the huge blind spot on the passenger side of these buses. This glaring error is unnecessary. In our division we had our right and left convex mirrors mounted low, down where the action is. There were no blind spots on either side of our coaches. You could not hide a kid on a bicycle on the right or left of our buses. I understand that mirrors mounted from the top look cool, but in reality they create unnecessary blind spots near the front wheels.

Compared with trains buses are more flexible in timetable and routes, plus less in maintenance and operational costs.

True. The only problem with trains is people don't want to ride them. The people vote with their feet. Here in Canada our Via Rail has cut back from two trains a day across Canada, to only 3 per week, and they run half empty sometimes. They lose a lot of money, which proves you can not argue with the public.

@@DarylSmith-zh7igLondon has a good bus system but it also doesn’t use the biggest buses due to narrow roads and how the system OSS operated. I think capacity is good but can be measured in other ways such as bus frequency, the amount of interchanges a person can easily do, alternative routes. It’s more than the capacity of the bus.
