A&W tried to sell a third pounder burger to rival McDonald's quarter pounder. They sold it for the same price, but nobody wanted to buy it because the majority of people thought they were getting less meat.

Found Matthews channel several years ago, binge watched often, life got busy, and I’ve just gotten the time to watch videos again on KZfaq. Didn’t realize how much I missed the little dose of positivity and humor in every video! ☺️

the mighty wings actually sold really well (I worked there at the time) the main reason we got rid of them was because they took 8 minutes to cook and caused a lot of complaints. The volume of wings sold could not be cooked quick enough. I don't remember what it was but we could only cook a certain amount per basket and our specific store (like most) only had 1 vat for them.

The noid wasn't a failure, society was.

I would never ever order any type of seafood from a fast food place(especially shellfish). Waaay too easy to be given food poisoning

I loved Wendy’s frescata sandwiches! I really hated when they pulled them from the menu. And you forgot McDonald’s seaweed burgers. I don’t remember what they were called, but my sister in law loved them because they were supposed to be a healthy alternative. Only problem was, she was allergic to them.

uh... no. the McDLT was actually good if you got it from a decent restaurant. Much like anything else you buy from a fast food location, it depends on the employees and management how the food is served and prepared. The McDLT wasn't kept under heat lamps; they assembled it in the box just before serving it to you. They use draws to keep the patties and buns warm, and were supposed to keep the lettuce and other veggies cool separately until ordered. They were NOT bad tasting or that big of a deal to put together. You just flipped the burger onto the other half and you were done. Most likely it was discontinued through a combination of the packaging being all styrofoam and the lackluster preparation of various stores who didn't want to be bothered with the eextra effort to prepare them. I don't really consider it a failure more than just something they took off the menu to reduce waste.

I liked the McDLT. They had it for several years and when they abandoned styrofoam they actually continued mcdlts in styrofoam so dropping it for for environmental reasons probably was partially true 🤣

I actually liked the Wendy's frescata sandwiches and was sad when they discontinued them. Lol. I also liked the smaller ones being on the kids menu with apple slices because I felt like that was a healthier option for my kiddos when I had to go through a drive through with them.

I actually had a chance to have the BK Halloween A1 whopper (it tasted like a normal whopper)..but the joke in my area at the time was "go to BK for a treat, get a green trick at home" lol. The burger didn't upset the stomach or make anyone I know sick, so the "trick" of the treat was more funny to me than a disappointment
