sixty buck for a meal? OK. I transulate in EUR. Now, how on EARTH could, or would, some one pay 60 bucks for a single meal for a single person. Are you totally mad? Listen, I make 50.000 EUR a year. I DO have a mortage, kids going to collage, University even. There is something very wrong in your country. I would spend more than 60 EUR on a meal for a single person if it was that good. Not in a fast food restaurant. I usually get take away/delivery for a family of 5 for that.

Blaming everything on C-19? My main reason for not eating out is the high prices.. You know the thing.. Inflation. Some say that it doesn't exist or made up. Plus tax, plus tip. A $25 meal quickly becomes $32+

The answer is simple 3 step. Quality, cost and quantity. During pandemic these chains took the liberty to jack up the prices and mess up the quality and quantity. I can understand they struggled at that time but now the customer is struggling even more. I don’t care if the decor stays the same. Instead of putting money in that why not reduce the prices? The renovation costs are eventually be passed on to customers. And that’s just spiral driving to the end of the chain. Restaurants need to pay the employees better wages instead of burdening the customer even more with tips. If the chains don’t understand something so simple then they deserve to go down IMHO.

TO EXPENSIVE.... Paid $10 for two eggs and pancakes at IHOP. (Cost to IHOP was about one dollars) Paid $50 at Buffalo Wild Wings for 3 people. (Cost to BWW was about five dollars) Don't get me started on Red Lobster All of these places have high mark-up's or really stupid buyers. Ten times the cost of the food is too high. 3 to 4 times the cost is good.

Don't Blame the Local Fast food or cafe! Their Rents went up, or taxes, Utilities went up, Payroll sky Rocketed all at once, Food prices sky Rocketed, state insurance went up, equipment filures repair sky rocketed, Plus less People because of increased prices. Book keepers, Need I go on?But, they have no choice they are forced to raise their price, even at times in the Winter they get no pay check but just hanging on until Summer. It is no bed of roses running a Fast food or Cafe, Even people that do not show up for work making more work for others. It is no easy task running a Fast food or Cafe. I know, I worked that Field for 15 years after retiring from 36 years in my job. SAD!

Also true. I have been saying for 20 years that it's getting tougher for business to have properties MAINLY, in my opinion, because of taxes & insurance. You have a small sandwich shop, & it costs you $2500 month...JUST FOR RENT... before you turn a nickel. Then, like you said, utilities, employees, all the bs that comes w just that, plus maintenance, inventory, YOUR OWN SALARY, etc, etc. We are being taken down... FROM WITHIN. Sure, we should be vigilant about our enemies FOREIGN, but the REAL enemy is now within. HUH... thought I read that somewhere...

Since Covid, the only affordable and decent cuisine are Mom and Pop small restaurants. The big chains can not afford help or rising food costs. Family owned restaurants are doing excellent business. They are clean, excellent food and very good service. The owners are fair to their few employees, and they buy food locally. However, we do eat at Beef O'bradys for wings on occasion, but that's about it. If they should go downhill, we will stick to private dining fare. Raising minimum wage and run away inflation is killing the food industry chain restaurants.

Thank you for this. Have a couple of discount coupons for one of these places & we should use it while we can. Years ago I liked spareribs at Applebee's very much. They were taken off the menu. I ordered something else which I didn't like. The mgr. came over & I thought it was stupid that he didn't offer me something else. (This was when economy was good.) Had an expensive meal at Outback Steakhouse before COVID; it disappointed all of us at the table. Lunch prices are now what dinner prices were before COVID in most places You really have to be nuts about a place or you don't want to bother. Sorry if name icon comes up 2X.

I worked for red lobster for 2 days an quit back in the early 2k's. trainer kept vanishing on me when he was supposed to train me. Hooters were all closed here due to a disabled person suing them for not having wheelchair access doorways. Olive garden last time we were there, the server brought us a salad with black bad lettuce. Ruby tuesday that closed down didn't have much business even for being on a pretty busy corner. Applebee's bbq sauce is horrid, plus any time ive been to one the food was never that good but once due to a really good waiter!~ B-dubs ever since Arby's bought them have gone down hill, all the decor that used to make the place was taken away an the place is just blan with a bunch of TV's!~ Ihop has never been a good place vs other local breakfast places!~ Outback Steakhouse had a location that failed to pay it's taxes once an was closed, they have some damn good ribs!~

I understand the need. It is called capitalism in a free democrarcy of which you Americans are so fond of. Now, if Hooters does not meet the requirements on surviving in a capitalist economy, i dont give a fuck. If you rather enjoy your halve baked burger and cold fries and diet soda typically served at your fast food restaurants, instead of, or including the the beauty of the local fauna, that's OK too.
