There’s some sort of discrimination against natural types especially in some kibbe forums. A lot of people think that a naturals can’t be feminine and looks broad and masculine. Also a lot of people tend to place most women in some sort of natural category when being typed in these forums. So it seems very common and not “special”. This is what I’ve noticed.

Hear, hear! I've noticed it too, and it really used to hurt my self esteem...A lot :') It's really strange too. I think it's because Kibbe himself also has a kind of bias against naturals; calling them "wide" not "delicate", and all. But at the same time, he uplifts all the other women, especially if they have "softness".

Nothing is going to stop me from wearing bodycon 😂 people seem to think of bodycon as squeezing the body but in my experience it's just gently outlining the body. As I'm so petite, delicate and curvy I need fittedness or I get buried. Bodycon allows me to shine and not look child-like and buried in my clothes, but rather, more mature and put together .

I'm romantic (not sure but yet) and for real when I wear straight blazer it'll look so bulky so big so straight and heavy on me (as if I'm wearing my dad's clothes) but when I wear something similar also formal but with different or softer fabrics and pretty light it'll look soooo fit and elegant and put together! It's so interesting noticing how different fibers/shapes will change the whole quality of your look even if it's the same style.

I feel I'm a flamboyant classic mixeh with gamine. The classic can do most styles, I just stick to long vertical line, no over garish patterns, some symmetry. If you know what tips it over the edge into looking wrong, it's more useful than sticking to rigid rules. There are so many small details that make it right or wrong for you. I often get compliments for my style so I must be doing it right. Two dresses can look similar, but the colour, pattern, or cut can make a huge difference. I do have a good eye for this but you can train it, by being open minded but critical at the same time. Small differences in body proportions between types also tip the difference. And above all you should like and feel comfortable in the clothes you wear and enjoy wearing them.

@@shirin9452 yea it is but from what I've learned over the months the lines and shapes make certain vibes. Ex: I'm soft gamine and the word i hear for this type alot is "doll" because our lines make us look like small dolls. What i take from that is that if you can make it look good on a doll. You can make it look good on an SF.
@shirin9452
@shirin9452 2 жыл бұрын
@@epictetushasepictiddiez2615 interesting, I took it more as if you want to do a boho style, find something that has the print and the vibe but is in your lines-aka broken up and shorter. Or let’s say you wanted more of a theatrical romantic look. Then you could do the v-neck/sweetheart neckline and the fitted trousers that taper at the ankle, but with color blocking and some more geometric patterns perhaps. If a romantic wanted to do a natural look, they’d want to make sure whatever drapey, deconstructed piece they pick still emphasizes the waist and maybe shows off their legs as well. I really thought it was about embracing the style fully but using your lines to make the clothes look good on you.

I think another stereotype I've seen is that FN can't have ANY waist emphasis, and must pretty much always wear big floppy clothing that hangs like a shapeless bag. As an FN who loves all things girly and princessy and vintage, this was really disheartening to me. :') However, I've started learning to take this more as a suggestion, and instead of thinking "I need to somehow make my wardrobe more baggy" I changed my mindset to "how can I use what I already have and love in my wardrobe to accentuate my long line?" Still a bit of a journey, but I'm getting there! (If anyone has any recommendations for how to incorporate FN lines into a girly style, would love to hear it!)

As I understand it, from Aly, and others, is that it's about proportions and balance for (or rather coming from) one's "vibe". The type sets the "thermostat" pivotal point. Like in the winter, if it's a sunny day you think it's warm, but the same temerature in high summer would be cold. Or a classic museum with really high ceiling and large rooms, where very big paintings look normal and like they belong there, but where a medium sized painting would look small, albeit in your home it would dominate the room. So everyone can express all styles, it's just that the starting point is different.

In general, I think some conflate body type words like “ classic” or “natural” with how they perceive themselves or who are their style icons rather than looking at their body type. A “dramatic’ may look best based on bone structure and frame to more linear, structured garments. A “natural” body type looks greatest in certain pieces. Some are interpreting body type with personality. I think that’s a mistake and a misconception about body type.

@@Cynthia-nk3ob to be honest, just by watching the videos about the body types over and over again and looking definitions up. Taking the tests once in a while was also helpful as I noticed that I became more aware of how my bone structure really looks like. It’s a long process but your eyes get trained over time. I remember that at the beginning, I did not see when someone didn’t look their best in one outfit but looked better in the other. In my eyes both looked kinda the same. But over time you will see the differences, you will notice when someone is dragged down by what they wear. And trying things on was also very helpful. This sounds very much like my experience too. I think it's just having to simplify your style as you get older, or maybe because we don't care much about the male gaze anymore, and feel good in our own skins, and we have learned what really works for us, never mind what the trend is, or what other people think!

@@jojotention for me its the opposite, my mom is a R while im a TR, haha :) we wear a lot of the same clothes actually. she just can handle more ruffles than me before it looks ridiculous. for men id say the hair is the most important, a friend of mine (R) looks the best when he embraces his wavy hair and doenst try to wear it straight /brushed trough. idk about your hair type, but romantics and trs need both softer styles. both can wear scarfes and it looks very sophisticated. also taking into account your "12 seasons colour analysis" type is important. my friend wears a lot of light colours, but hes cool toned, so he wears cool colours, even pastells and it does not look childish or "unmanly". the classy style, like business casual is a great start, then build from there or just look into your closet, often what you already have is what fits you the best. (depending on how old you are ofc) if you take a quick google search, theres the excerpt of kibbes book on romantic men available, i dont remember if i found it direclty via google or via reddit tho. i think its not what you want to hear, but it doesnt matter that much if you wear more TR or R clothes, as we can easily borrow from the other. if ot doesnt look good, you will definetly know, it wont feel right. happy experimenting! :)

@@salsadip7453 100%! I got curly hair and it certainly matches me better now that I am more confident about it. I think my style would be more of a male version of “female fatales”, classy but there’s that sensuality about it. It’s so funny how everything feels like it was meant to be like that you know? my hair is curly and I’m a romantic, even my seasonal color is soft autumn which adds to the inteire softness of my body, dk, it’s just very curious how everything falls into place…at least for me. I am so tall already, I don't want to wear heels in everyday life and make myself even taller. maybe the high leg straight pants work with sneakers as well? @@cinderling5472 i actually did the day after writing this comment.... i decided to redo the photo and questionnaire. Most of my answers were B but the last section for eyes, cheeks, jawline i got all c. So bone structure is natural and face is classic. I do have a lot of bohemian clothes as do i classic clothes. I realized that perhaps the reason why office style collared shirts, loose dolman sleeve tops, oversized blazers , don’t work on me is perhaps because it contrasts my facial features too much - where if i wear a pajama collar shirt, puff shoulder blouse and single breast single button blazers it does suit my face too. My favorite pieces are boho dresses with slight or no waist def , round neck tops with tunic neckline and medium contrast dressing for my ginger complexion. Thank you for replying.

I don't have a sharp jawline or chin or nose or cheekbones but I dont even have full lips like a Romantic type. I had a similar problem, choosing between R or SG. I'm 157 cm and currently overweight. I decided to go with the clothing suggestions that are similar within those two categories: soft fabrics, defined waist, feminine shoes, no unconstructed, wide silhouettes. It helps to look at these common elements when shopping, and I see how I like the specific details (color, size of ruffles, vibe, whatever) when I try them on. For me, Kibbe system is like a signpost that points the way, not a box I have to fit in.
