A Nintendo Switch 2 has been rumored for a long time, but as each day goes by, a new Nintendo console is becoming more and more imminent. There’s still so many new features a successor to the Switch could offer, as the Switch itself simply isn’t perfect, so today, I’m going to be going over ten improvements that a new Switch absolutely needs!

I really hope the next console has more personality. The switch as a console really feels bland in comparison to past Nintendo systems, so I really hope in its successor we get more things like menu music, themes, and (hopefully) more of a focus on the miis.

I’d rather Nintendo keep NSO cheap but add more functionality, but for me, the most important thing for the new switch is that it’s backwards compatible and more powerful. Also I think the complaints about the dock are just nitpicks. The dock is small enough as it is I don’t want it any smaller but that’s just me.

One weird feature I would like is a second cartridge slot so if you constantly playing 2 physical games you don’t need to swap the cartridge every time

I didnt even realise or think about how the switch has no other software apart from just playing games lol. Its a good point, you should be able to switch to more casual in built nintendo apps like they’ve done in previous consoles

@@BlackWindswhat? 🤨 the 3ds is hacked using the sd card. So is the Wii U. I don’t remeber anybody using the mii maker to hack something or streetpass and miiverse. What were you smoking I want some

@b8conbear330 previous nintendo consoles were originally hacked using exploits with the web browser as well as certain eshop titles. Switch doesn't have a web browser because of this (not one you are supposed to have access to anyway). I never said anything about mii maker, streetpass, or miiverse. Perhaps you should make sure you aren't on anything first before you start accusing others.

@@BlackWinds usually there is multiple ways of hacking something. One game in particular kicked off the start of 3ds modding. Hackers and modders are never gonna get stomped they will always find there ways around. I didn’t mean to be accusatory tho that was my fault and I apologiE

@b8conbear330 Oh trust me, I'm very much aware hackers will never fully get stomped out. And in this day and age where these companies are locking you out of your purchases, I'm personally glad about that. It's not going to stop nintendo and other companies from trying, or at least by making it as tedius and painful as possible, though. And I appreciate the apology; it was just a minor misunderstanding.

I have been saying all of this since the Switch launch, and I was quickly ostracized for my opinion. It's funny to see Switch fans recognize all of these issues now, and honestly, it's a breath of fresh air to see people finally admit all of these issues. The fact that the Switch has lacked all of these features for 7+ years is the reason why I personally believe the Switch is one of the worst systems Nintendo has ever made. I believe they wanted to play it safe after the WiiU, so they made the Switch to rebuild. Now that they have "rebuilt," I hope that Nintendo will take all of this feedback, look at their past consoles, and make the next "Nintendo Console." I want to love Nintendo again, but I can't right now. I really hope Nintendo makes their next console one of their best consoles yet, one that has all of these features. If they don't, I'm not sure Nintendo ever will. The thing is, I really can't see them not doing this.

I didn’t realize so many people cared about themes 😂 every switch 2 video I watch it’s one of the first things mentioned. But then I don’t see much about it in the comments. I just want a switch that can play games like Pokémon and next gen open world games with smoother frame rates/graphics. Games are continuing to get bigger as life goes on, and the next switch needs to be able to handle what the creative minds at Nintendo are able to dish out.

All very good points. One other thing about the joycons is the price, $80 a pair??! That coupled with drift disease makes it a hard sell for me especially since Hall effect sensor thumbsticks have been available for almost 5 years now and are standard on most newer other console controllers such as Playstation dual-shock, Xbox elites and the newer edition hand helds like the Lenovo Legion Go, ASUS Rog Ally (though it's really just the triggers/shoulder bumpers only) as standard AND Gulikit direct and iFixit have Hall effect sensor thumbstick replacements for almost any console or handheld currently on the market INCUDING Nintendo Switch. I still really like my Switch but I recently acquired a new standard Valve Steamdeck 512Gb at a great discount and loving it (have had a pretty extensive Steam Library for some time now since building my own PC systems since 1995), will get the OLED version in a couple years & I still want a Switch OLED. If they're smart Nintendo will follow your advice and make those improvements for the Switch2.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did an enhanced version of Tears of the Kingdom for the Nintendo Next System. Or a version of Fire Emblem Three Houses with improved color saturation and all the DLC included from the get-go. But yeah, there wouldn't be nearly as many Switch to Nintendo Next System enhanced ports as what occurred for the Switch. Especially as it's unknown why Nintendo didn't consider to create a limited produced WiiU disc drive attachment for the dock.

voice chat by nintendo isnt going to happen they don't want to moderate. themes don't happen because it adds boot up time they have as little as possible to keep the boot up time low the memory speed of the Nintendo switch is very low so anything increases the boot time and the wii u and 3ds had a long boot time. unfortunately backwards compatibility is up in the air sense the new pircay cart was announced Nintendo might actually remove it because of the thing.

Most serious thing is Why need Paying all for Online Service to Games as All we Have Wi-Fi its Worst Mechanic for Switches, Why not Paid membership to Games like PS5 or PS4? Only switch Games Need Charge even more $$$ Best thing is to REMOVE ONLINE MEMBERSHIP and Separate their Emulators than Online Gameplay...

I don’t think it can compete in terms of power but we’ve all seen Hogwarts Legacy on Switch, we need something with at least PS4/Xbox One power

You’re asking way too much in regards to PS5 power I don’t think that’s really necessary and it’s not Nintendo philosophy to compete with its rivals and for me Nintendo wouldn’t stand out in my opinion, the fact that they don’t try to compete on specs and they innovate makes them stand out a lot more in my eyes and I wouldn’t want them to change that. Obviously I want the new switch to be more powerful, but I want it to be powerful enough. That games are running consistently at 60 FPS with no frame drops.

@@SwitchStop the nintendo games have something to do by itself in game. Like in kirby or mario u can have it 100% and see that u collect everything in game. And give u some bonuses by completing. But achievement system its a trap that make u spend more time in game where there is nothing to do, exactly. Let me be clear, Im an addict to perfectionism. And beat allmost all game to 100% but this shitty achievement system on xbox and ps and in alot of games its a trash. Like kill 5000 mobs in gears dont remember their name. And u got nothing for it. Just a badge and waste alot of time for this f badge.

And no one is saying to me how to play. “Beat the stage with cucumber in your As” or “kill a boss with cucumber” naaah f that without this system i play the game like i want to. Achievement its dopamine trap. Ppl spending alot of time to get them when can spend time to lvling up in life. Go to the gym, spend time with girl, trying to get more money in life not damn game. Damn i was such a nerd when was addicted to them. And i dont want it on switch. Without them is much better. Of course now im playing on ps without even looking at them. But still to see uncompleted game is hard for me
