I have a very small closet area. So one closet with summer clothes and the other with fall/winter clothing. Then organize it by color and work/casual clothing. It is almost impossible to have to much, because it won't fit in my closet. But i do have a dresser that I change out my sweaters in winter then t-shirts and tanks in the summer. Always moving things around.

I wish I had a whole room for my wardrobe, as you do. I have a lot of clothes and accessories, all of which I love and wear, my two narrow bedroom closets are very full. I also have two garment racks up. I do edit all the time, but I won’t get rid of well-fitting, current and expensive natural-fiber clothes that I love. I try to cut down on the shopping end, but there’s always something new to love!

I like all your ideas and wish I had a large closet like yours. We live in a beautiful, but older home with small closets. Very little hanging space. I have a few shelfs and drawers in the bedroom. Out of season clothes are stored in another room. Outerwear, which is essential for north/west Canada has it's own closet downstairs. The jackets and coats I use almost daily are in a closet by the front door. My husbands jackets are by the back door. Shoe shelves are downstairs too, with the most used shoes by the front door. I try to be organized, but never really have room to display my clothes. It makes it harder to pull outfits together. I also not willing to move to a new house, so I guess I have to work with what I got.

My closet has been a work in progress for several years. I’ve paired it down significantly since retirement. I hang everything with the exception of sweaters and scarves which I fold. It is quite surprising how dusty a closet can get even when the doors are closed. I like to do a wipe down of shoes and purses before they go back in. I love the belt organizer you showed!

@@martimar7181 Mine was too after retiring. For myself it came down to where do I go, what do I do, what am I comfortable in. Most of my wardrobe is casual but with a few pieces each season I can dress up or down.

These are all wonderful ways to keep our belongings organized. I am fortunate to have a second bedroom where I keep my off season clothing. I also keep my purses in this closet. Each purse is protected with dust bags. Recently I decided to ditch the plastic shoe boxes and have all my shoes displayed on my shelves. It adds a boutique look and it makes it easy to grab what I need. Every other week I dust all the shelves and the tops of the shoes to keep my closet clean. I categorize my clothing by color. For example, one section is all navy and it includes blouses, pants and blazers in that color. It's almost like having a mini capsule wardrobe. I use that same system with neutrals (whites and beiges) and then black and greys - again including blouses, pants, and blazers in those colors. I keep all my sweaters in an armoire by color as well. Color coding is so helpful! Have you talked with a closet installation company? They have great solutions even for smaller closets.

I adore my home but like so many older homes, it has small closets. Even the master closet isn’t that large. I have already taken one bedroom to use for general storage installing standing shelving. I have under the bed rolling bins for extra health and beauty items that don’t fit in the tiny bathroom closet. Is it crazy to move from a home you love over closet space?

Every house has its challenges. Years ago, we had attics that could house many of our off season items but most homes don't have this option. We just all do our best!

J.Crew or Quince have great cashmere sweaters. Love Vince that has a higher pricepoint.
