Content was good, the theatrical voice over a bit much. But there was plenty that repeat exposure is worthwhile. Some of the points should be added to a Beginner’s video, especially the first about getting to know the scooter, where the controls are and the Dos and Don’ts of acceleration and braking. Practice is important- too many riders believe it’s no more difficult to ride than a child’s kick scooter, not realizing the going 20 mph around a corner, or avoiding a pothole or object in the road without losing control takes some skill. I find that when I first get on if I haven’t ridden in a bit, that those skills may be a bit rusty - and it’s a worthwhile exercise to head back to the parking lot or private road and practice turns, doing head checks, stoping quickly and still safely, and remembering the feel of hitting the throttle a bit too hard and the scooter wanting to take off.

Very good advice, all very true! I would add don’t leave thy scooter exposed to direct sunlight for over 30 minutes when not riding it and DO practice not leaning on the handlebar when accelerating/decelerating.

Brillant addendums (leaving thy scooter in hot cars will render similar negative results)! Most people tend to forget temperature plays a critical role in battery performance/life. P.S. Still waiting on the @ESG team/Chuck to answer our questions on the app used at 1:25

Excellent - well done & full marks! As a confirmed cyclist I’ve experienced/witnessed much (including actually taking a tumble or twelve over the handlebars!) - certain motorists (with full licences) show road-rage; certain cyclists (who should know better) persist in cycling a) on footpaths and b) with NO lights when it’s dark (Jeez!). Seems to me that e-Scooters are still somewhat regarded as a ‘toy’ - albeit with certain e-Scooterers(?)/e-Scooterists(?) speeding up when approaching/going over speed bumps (which are there to get us to SLOW DOWN, as part of safe travel). Also, some don’t see the need to have a helmet (dumbasses!). The Rules of the Road are clear and based on common-sense: *Do NOT exceed a speed where you are unable to stop safely, within a certain distance. *Avoid foreseeable events (e.g. if/when cycling always leave enough space for a car door to open in your path so you can avoid smacking into it etc.). I recommend to lawmakers (everywhere) that 1) a 14.5-20 kph limit be applied, 2), usage on bike lanes only (not bus-lanes, not least because the rear light(s) is/are completely inadequate), 3) helmets mandatory for under 16s (aged 16+ you should know what’s going on). I’ve recently purchased my own e-Scooter and cannot wait to use it (but have held off due to weather - do NOT use them if/when it’s raining/wet (no problem disembarking and walking - yes, walking - alongside it). Above all else, bear in mind you do not own the cycle lane and so on - other folks are there also. I’m now focusing on my S.R.R. criteria - Safety, Range & Reliability. I’ve put an extra front/rear (red) light on my helmet (plus camera). Also 2 extra stand-alone lights on both front and rear (red) of the scooter itself (one blinking, one steady, saves a little - little - bit of battery drain): Rules of the Road again: “Be safe, be seen”. Happy travels, fellow e-Scooterers(?)/e-Scooterists(?). Just sayin’.

FYIin my State of Maine we haven't gotten bike lanes in the road and bikes yes even scooters are allowed on sidewalks. My experience as a child and teen on the road with a bike and later Honda Trail 90 were let's say adventurous because drivers can be jerks and I mean purposely so. Thus I'm planning on using sidewalks as much as possible but giving pedestrians all the respect they deserve by common not to a full stop until they pass. I'll be doing errands but I don't imagine I'll be in any rush so it's all good and I don't want to become the villain and hog the sidewalk like drivers did to me a n the past.

+1 for this, It's a lot of the same things I already practice with my bike. I recently got an eScooter because I won't be able to sit on a saddle for a few months after an upcoming surgery (and after that it seems like it'd be easier to take on a train than my bike). The big thing that I'm adding to my safety checklist is to check the stem latch. So now it's tires, brakes, chain, helmet, stem.

The first time you right your route go alittle slower.... Maybe 15 mph through any areas that have rough terrain or poorly lit areas (including shady pathways) I was riding my route maybe 3rd or 4th time, and there's a tree that casts shade on a fairly decent road. Long story short I hit a small deep pot hole I never noticed before. I have the Touring so I really felt it... Almost bailed and I had cars passing on my right. Now I know exactly where that thing is. I have to learn to mark it for the days it may be filled with water.

Great video but one must get familiar with wet surfaces and how dangerous it is. Wet 🍃 🍂 leaves 🍃 can be detrimental and would make you hit rock 🪨 hard flat on the pavement because it happened to me but if I didn't have my safety equipment then I would've been hospitalized, Mud surfaces is a big no no especially if you are own street tires trust me I thought I was going over dry dirt but boy was I wrong. I was slammed to the ground going over 20mph that knocked the breath out of me! Luckily I fell into someone's yard but even then my ribs where in pain for a couple of weeks. Never let your guards down and fill too comfortable riding even if you feel like you mastered it. I trusted my dual shocks and how well and stable it rides over 20mph which led to me falling a few times on bad misjudged oversight. One should slow down if you can't quite make out what you're about to roll over and you gotta be quick about it before it's too late. That's all I got so have fun and be safe!

Only one I really disagree with is not riding on sidewalks. I go to work at 5 am when few pedestrians (or driver's) are out but the roads are still crap. I ride on sidewalks and either veer into road to pass and get back on or get off and walk past them. Physics states a 50 lb scooter doing 15 mph hitting a several thousand pound car is more dangerous than a 50 lb scooter doing 15 hitting a pedestrian going 3. Plus, with controlled riding, isn't going to happen... At least in my area where there are far fewer pedestrians than vehicles.

An intelligent advice: @4:43 "learn how to *bail or jump off* your scooter when it doesn't stop soon enough" True! if you will hit an object, then don't wait until you leave your 'print' on the paint!! your scooter will cause less damage without your weight and you will find a softer barrier to hug!

Yes the scooters are modern day chariots but some of the laws in your 10 commandments are wrong, according to God. 3). Wear Your Safety Gears - God says you don't need to wear motorcycle helmet going past 20 mph nor do you need elbow and knee pads and body armor. God says if you don't believe in God (unbeliever) hence you don't follow his ways he will reduce protection from you so yes in that case you would need proper safety gear. But if you are a believer (faithful Christian) you will get protection from God. Motorcycle helmet and body armor become a waste, as God wants you to rely on him for protection as he monitors our scooter riding by the minute, by the second, even by the micro-second. He arranges it so that you don't even get accidents. 7). Obey Government's Regulation/Law on Scooters - Jesus told me don't refrain yourself from getting a fast scooter because the local police say it's illegal to ride scooter on the road if it goes faster than 25 mph. He says you can go faster than that, up to 40s to 50s mph if the speed zone increases to 45 mph. Jesus says he wants government to change their laws as they are too restrictive on certain things and be more lenient with the scooter riding as more people will need scooters to replace their cars due to upcoming financial collapse. Scooters will be alternative or primary transportation in the coming days. 8). Love Thy Neighbors and Respect - Yes that's good that's what Jesus wants. He says be sure to obey traffic law like stop signs and traffic lights. He emphasized heavily on that. Ride your scooter just like the way you drive your car, obeying traffic laws. 10). Thy Enjoy Ride - Yes God wants you to enjoy riding the scooter. A lot of people will suffer due to mental distress and depression when the trouble comes to this nation economically. A lot of people will go broke and go homeless, or lose their cars. God uses scooter riding to cheer you up and give you strength and will to go out and do something. He wants us to keep looking for job and work even when the economy collapses as some businesses will still be opened for work. God promotes scooter riding seriously. It is one his top agendas. Jesus told me these things.

@@lolnah8856 I didn't say don't wear helmet at all. Wear a bicycle helmet. That's what Jesus told me to wear to ride my scooter for 40- 45 mph commute. It's not my idea, it's what Jesus told me to do... I was trying to buy a motorcycle helmet and knee pads but he says don't do that.
