To Sonali's point that will be actively discussed in the comment section, I just wanted to say:- The point is not about ALL WOMEN, MOST WOMEN or SOME WOMEN but a generalised take that gets said on a public platform which is subjective and cannot be analytically proven. Its just a standard you set dependent on your experiences, it does not mean its universally true!

To be honest, I do see her perspective too. Because we still believe a suitable groom is one who earns more than the bride to be. When looking for prospective guys on martrimony websites, I have noticed a lot of women in my own circle looking for guys who are financially stable and are earning more than they do. My thinking is different and fortunately my family and in laws are both of the 'it's a partnership either way' thinking. But nonetheless, I was shocked to hear these opinions almost everywhere around me. While there's nothing wrong with marrying a guy who earns more/less than you, making it a base criteria while searching for a groom is sadly a common practice.

What Kajol said is correct though. Some ppl ruling the country don't have the education/qualifications for ruling the country. Ppl calling Kajol uneducated, she might be a school-dropout, but she's not ruling and making decisions for the country. Acting is her profession and she's amazing at that! The ppl who troll her for expressing her opinions later troll her for apologizing after. C'mon, the media made such a big deal out of it, she had to apologize to keep the media circling around her statement🙄

People talk about "qualifications to rule" but what are these qualifications? Saying XYZ degree is very arbitrary. If the point is "education is important cos it gives you perspective" then that perspective matters in every field - including acting. And the fact that Kajol didn't feel the need to find that perspective in own career only makes her seem like a hypocrite.

Her husband is selling Pan masala and this school dropout comes out to preach about education. Isn’t it because of ppl like her husband, this country is getting exploited? You know how much tax pan masala companies pay to government. Her husband is promoting it, this doesn’t need education, its common sense. Still they are doing it being aware of its lethal affects, they are pretty much like the politicians, everyone is exploiting like her husband. More than education ppl need common sense which she clearly lacks. 😒

It is absolutely unfair to judge other women based on what we perceive with our (often) privileged notions. I see it all the time in maddening white upper-class feminist discourse. Not all women are able to fight for the same things, sometimes there's just way too many other things including societal conditioning, circumstances, etc. that make their situation the way it is. You may not understand someone's situation, but you ought to at least give them the benefit of the doubt. Also, most women are not simply sitting while their husbands are working. Domestic labor is also incredibly important labor which unfortunately gets overlooked often. Even assuming something about the experiences of an entire group of people based on one anecdotal experience shows internal prejudices that already existed.

Sonali’s privilege showed in her statement because even in many urban well-off families women don’t have the agency to make any decisions about their own lives. From not being allowed to work at all, to working in specific fields so that you can also carry out all your household chores for the whole family after work; this is the reality in our country. The situation is worse in tier 2-3 cities. Sonali’s comments on just one set of women is disrespectful to all the other women trying to make it in a man’s world.

Since none of them want to listen anyone, none of them want to improve, why waste timing in explaining them. again when we'll try to do it they'll be like,"you are mansplaining us". anyways this is my personal opinion. Only rich women in India can afford to be lazy. Maybe Sonali K thinks this way becoz she is upper class herself and the women around her would be too. But she is forgetting that being lazy is not a luxury the rest of Indian women have. Working women usually have to handle office and home both, and anyone calling a housewife lazy has never met one. And yes many women do seek rich successful husbands, but let's not forget how many women in this country are simply not allowed to study, work or be independent. The situation is such that their husband is the only source of their social and financial capital. But yes there are women who are gold diggers in the true sense of the word, but they are undoubtedly a very small minority. A very rich woman married to a very rich man is telling the rest of Indian women to not be lazy. This moment reminded me of Kim K when she said that just get off your ass and work. The privilege dripping off of these statements is astounding.

Contrast it with interviews of talented actors like Avinash Tiwary where he mentioned having to audition for smaller roles like bulbbul and girl on the train, even after his stellar performance as the lead in Laila Majnu! And while she has right to speak her mind or criticise the government, other people also have the rights to criticize her statement. Hi Amol, I recently saw a Koffee with Karan episode 2 from season 1 showcasing Rani and Kareena, where they included a segment in which various then male leading actors like Fardeen, John, Arjun Rampal and many more were openly discussing about the sex appeal and butt of those actresses and rating them on a scale of 1-10 and I could not fathom how normalised it was then. What's even more appalling is that both the actresses were laughing and saying thank you to those guys for being a sport. Give it a watch if you haven't already and maybe make a video on it as to how much of that content is normal for today's scenario as well. Would love to hear your views on it. ❤️

I read the comment section and many are against Anmol's take on Sonali's comment but I actually take his side... Even if she didn't generalize it, this take is really tone deaf... First of all, she is talking about preference. I am a 100% sure men have preferences too.. It does go both way... So saying women are lazy and that men have to work hard to get into a relationship is just tone deaf... Both parties have to work equally hard in a relationship... So, its not just men who have unfair standards put on them, which I completely acknowledge and sympathise with... Its also women who are expected so much like she should be beautiful, amazing homemaker and the same time should work and earn too... Its unfair to both... Lets acknowledge that...

The problem is with the way this society works, while a girl who do not want to work and earn money can get married to a rich boy, the same won't happen if genders are reversed. While a woman is often free to pursue her career after graduation, a man is expected to start earning and support his family after graduation.
@simplysubhiksha783

@@davisvincent3247 True that... There certainly do exist many unfair expectations for men like having to work and earn money to support the family, there are many things expected from women as well like women should do household duties and take care of children and family. In most Indian households, women still perform all the household duties while men earn for the family. I know there are going to be comments like 'Women don't do household chores nowadays, they have maids and machines doing all the jobs'. It is mostly true for double income households only where both parties are working. In most single income households, still women are expected to do all the household chores. So, just because men have to face unfair expectations from society doesn't mean women are exempted from it. So my initial point still stands...

Not a very big fan of Kajol, but what she said can be considered as a fair comment as a lot of our Indian leaders are not educated. Not saying that our actors are highly educated. However they are at least proving their way through their talent which does not require a degree in particular and film industry is a private enterprise and not run by taxpayers money. However, in order to run a country One needs to be educated about the country. Kajol was not naming any particular political party. It’s something like saying- for example -: “our justice system is very slow and weak.“ it would be considered a fair comment as it is talking about the justice system as a whole and not any lawyer or judge or court in particular. A fair comment in legal terms clearly means “A comment or criticism made without malicious intent and based on accurate information or observation.“ ****Edit**** with regards to Sonali Kulkarni, it is also a fair comment however, there is a very fine line between giving a genuine fair argument vs bashing and insulting powerless people. Example- If I say "Most poor people are lazy and are freeloading off the nation's money." That is bound to cause a lot of resentment as I am directly bashing people who are 1) Not at fault for being poor 2) Completely ignoring the fact that poor people are forced into doing thankless, menial jobs to make ends meet. If I say "Inefficient bureaucracy is the reason why proper schemes to uplift the poor are not well implemented, therefore poor people are remaining poor." that can be ignorant or hypocritical, however that is- 1) Putting accountability on bureaucrats who chose to be bureaucrats 2) Based on a certain level of ground level observation and commenting without any harmful intent or simply making a statement with good intent. Hopefully people understood my point. 🙏😊

In my personal opinion, it seems that you may have misunderstood Sonali Kulkarni's point.😅 I believe she was trying to convey that men are often not even considered as potential partners unless they meet certain criteria. As a result, men have to invest a significant amount of time and effort to reach a certain standard. Many women desire partners who are in their prime, which is why Sonali made the remark about "women of this generation being lazy." This comment was not without reason, as men strive to transform and develop themselves to meet the general preferences of women. On the other hand, women sometimes perceive men's preferences as unreasonable and regard themselves as the ultimate prize right from the start. It's important to note that these are just my personal thoughts on the matter...

You say these are your personal thoughts on the matter, so obviously that is your interpretation of what Sonali said. India is not yet so developed that "many women" even have the practical privilege of choosing their husbands as a fundamental right. The amount of women that reject men because of lack of money is far outweighed by the sheer amount of women who work hard through their early twenties just to fill the pockets of their future husbands in the name of marital "gifts". Even among educated families, the list of "gifts" from the bride is far longer and far more valuable than that of the groom. I come from a middle class background and I started earning right in my final year of college. But will this money go to my future savings? No. In this economy middle-class fathers are simply not capable enough to prepare their daughters' dowries on their own. My entire savings will go in paying loans after my marriage, and I'll have to work even then to support my husband, along with kitchen responsibilities. It all depends on the people you surround yourself with. You surround yourself with the privileged 1% in this country and bury your head in the sand then ofcourse you're going to have an opinion that is different from actual reality.

It is a fact that a lot of girls in our society keep very high expectations from their partners but will not talk about how they would contribute to the future. Not all women but a lot of women. Any way i didn't realize that i hadn't subscribed to your channel. I don't miss watching any video. Your channel is my IMDB a lot of times. ❤❤

Bohot saari ladkiyan means majority of women. If you look at movies today, apart from handful of actresses, most are in movies just to be love intreset and nothing more. Does the samething apply in common man's life? Even if a woman is housewife, she is taking care of house and is enabling husband to go out and work. Can someone work without food, clothes and other basic hygiene. Could she have articulated it better, maybe, but who knows her intention was?

In most cases, even if the girl is well established, she will look for an even better earning partner. This does not apply to all girls, and not restricted to India alone.

Do you realize that taking care of home and kids is a contribution to the man’s life and to society? Raising well behaved kids with right value system is a contribution is society. The food that daddy buys, mummy changes it into consumable form. Not your fault, we are trained to see contribution and success only in form of money. that is why the world is a mess now. Not everything valuable can be converted into money. This thought process is the reason why housewives have been disrespected for ages and now women had to resort to leaving child in daycares and go to work.

@@dashmeetsingh9679 bohot saari ladkiyan doesn't mean majority. Also taking care of the house and children is not a mother's responsibility alone. I'm sure Sonali Kulkarni did put this point into consideration. The problem is with high expectations from the very beginning. It's hard to expect a boy who's probably 25-28 to own a house, have a 6 figure salary and fixed deposits. Both need to work hard and fulfill responsibilities of the house and grow together as a couple and as individuals. Point to be noted - especially with men and women who are well educated and are doing well for themselves before they are married.

@@cyberswarup I agree but it's not the best to demand something just for the sake of prestige in the society. There are other qualities men and women can expect of each other - humility, accountability, respect and hard work.

The south event wasn't the first of its own. There was an actor, T Rajndar, of some film and he chided Sai Dhansika host+actress on her missing out his name while hosting, and she apologised profusely over it, while the gaudy remarks from the veteran kept on coming, and the two cast-mates kept on laughing. It was atrocious. The veteran is the father of now bigger star, Silambarasan TR, and only Actor Vishal came out in her support. It's just too much drama happening over there outside the movie.

Iam not surprised by what men in tamil industry say, there has been many such instances... the infamous case of chimayi sripada is a prime example, even nayanthara was publicly humiliated by a aged useless guy.... the tamil society is like that, they look down on woman who acts in film, but they want women to titillate men in movies. They say that's the reason why less native tamil speaking actresses are very less in movies.

The way mainstream politicians conduct themselves, the vile language they use in public, especially during political campaigns is shameful. 90 politicians don't know about the history and geography of their own country, of their own state, they haven't read the constitution, or the law, and this group is in such overwhelming majority in the political circuit, that even the educated ones often bring themselves down to that level to win elections.
